At $73 per night I poop in my camper. Full hookup means less time spent messing with the dump station on checkout day and more time in the park. :) If it weren't for the camper I'd be at Lighthouse Point every visit hands down! I miss it already...
Funny I pay just for Electric only Back -in and still poop in my camper... Dumping only takes maybe 15 minutes to do for me... and this is only my second season with a camper.. Cable I have it at home and never watch it.. We take DVD's for the rare times we are at the camper..We are at the park most of the time!! Water I bring my own or bring a hose .. you can get water at the CP campground.
Now High speed Internet would be a cool option!?!
I am also going to GL campground in August ..Hope we have a better trip report than others..

$73 bucks a night to camp!? Good grief! I remember camping at the state places when I was a kid for like 6 bucks! :)
Oh well, if I had a campground next to CP and could fill it even though I charged $73 a night, I probably would charge that much too! :)

The GL campground is actually really nice. It's true that there isn't a 24 hr supervision on the bathrooms, but still, I stay there over ten times a summer, and must say that only once or twice do I encouter a mess. 100% of the time the mess is due to rowdy guests. This is out of park control. Once they come around, they clean up, belive me they clean up good.
Also it's no problem to walk to the front office and tell them of the rowdy guests or the mess. They will quickly take care of the situation. The Campground itself is very nice and wooded, with large sites. You should have a fine time in the Campground provided you just follow my guidelines above.
Yes, it's only about a mile or so.
eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!
Ride on, MrScott!
Do you think you can ride your bike to the entrance? And maybe lock it behide a bush... I know on the Causeway to CP it says No Bikes, Walking, Or Parking ?? Just wondering?
Not sure about that, but about distance, there is an entrance to the WWK lot right outside the campground entrance about 500ft down the road on your right. The sign for parking is right there.
This gate however is usually only opened on weekends. But riding a bike through it is no prob. Takes you right to the toll booths and parking lot quicker than when you come in the other way off of 43. This is all in reference to the WWK lot.
My family stayed at GL campgrounds over memorial day weekend and had a great time. The bathrooms did get messy, but we attributed that to the college kids that were there. We paid $25 a night, and that's alot better than what the KOA down the road asks.
Daughter and I were at the CG 8/11 to 8/13 .. It has a very poorly lit Entrance sign off Treat RD.. Which also didn't have a " So and So rd 500 feet ahead " sign like most roads did as we were coming down Chilliclothe rd.
It was dark when we checked in...Handed a map with some highlighted spots and told to pick one.. It was dark hard too see camp site markers.. Backed into one and my electric cord wouldn't reach.. Camp store wanted $27.95 for a 2 foot 30 amp extension cord !! We moved to another spot... This time sewer hose won't reach.. We stay there anyways...
Next morning we wake up and have a good breakfast . I head for the shower.. 3 showers .. 1 Locked from inside and filthy sock laying on the floor.. 2 nd faucet handle broke off ... 3 rd No Hot Water !!!!
Walked to front of CG for a Shower...
It was nice being able to ride Biles to and from the park.. We used the Treat Rd. WWK entrance and it was a Blast coming down that hill in the Dark!! We couldn't see anything back there.
I hope Cedar Fair fixes GLCG up some.. We would like to visit it agin, but won't without some improvements!
