Giant Huss Rides

With PKI announcing their new ride for next season it makes me wonder if CP will ever a giant Huss ride. I think its something that the park really needs and I could think of a ton of places to put one on point. I just hope that sometime soon in the future we might get one or two.

I agree 100%! PKI is hitting CP where it hurts in the shared Columbus market, because they're saying, "Look at us, we're not just roller coasters, we have all kinds of stuff." While CP does have a great variety of things to do (Live E, baby), there's a perception that it's a major ride park only. Even someone at my job told me he'd take the kids to Six Flags instead because there was "more to do" for them. He just didn't know.

But the other reason that the Huss giants are so perfect for CP is the capacity. These things can do 1,200 pph! How many non-coaster rides can do that?

I'll never forget Steph's description of Tomb Raider when she was there for the media day. We knew it was a giant Top Spin, but all she could keep saying is, "It's giant! Huge!" The sheer visual impact of that ride, and that's in a dark building, is something to behold. Just imagine what this Frisbee will look like outdoors.

I have to admit that I am also a huge fan of the Zamperla Hawk 48 rides such as Aero360 at Kennywood and Meteor at Dorney. As soon as I rode the one at Kennywood, I said to myself, "one of these would be awesome at CP!" :)

I said the same thing! That's another example of ride that would really enhance the park beyond the coaster thing.

TR:TR was my first Giant Huss ride, but even before riding it I checked out their website and have said several times since that I think CP needs a couple of these rides.

There are a lot of people out there who dislike coasters but would love to ride these.

It was everyone's first giant Huss... it's the only one ever built. Delirium will be the second.

I also would love an Aero360 at CP. That would be too cool!

Imagine the capacity of a Huss Giant at CP in combination with their cycle times on flat rides :)

I swear, I think HUSS had CP in mind *specifically* when they designed these rides. I mean really, can you think of a better place for one of those "Delerium" water-frisbees than over on the beach? Especially with Wicked Twister sitting right over there now. If CP ever wants to add another water ride I think this should be the one!

Any of those rides would work really good near WT.

Are these giant huss rides considered prototypes though.

I know this would probably never happen but I would think it would be really neat to have a frisbie that when it was swinging one way it swung out over the lake. I know they probably couldn't do this and that it probably wont be tried I think it would be awesome looking strait down at the lake from 100 some feet in the air.

Mmmmk being the dumb blonde that I am, I'm still learning about different types of rides. What exactly is a Huss ride? Hockey is so much easier to learn about :)

I'm not too fond of huge or giant "carnival" rides. But I suppose that if CP would put in a "carnival" ride, then a giant Huss would be the way to go. I was not really thrilled by the Topspins I have ridden, I think there needs to be another dimension to that kind of ride other than making it larger and inside a building with special effects. It needs to be on a total 360 degree rotation in all directions (forwards, backwards, left, and right.)

Huss is a German ride manufacturer. They made CP's Troika, Ocean Motion, and have their name on White Water Landing, but technically that's an Arrow. More info on the giant rides we're talking about can be found at www.hussrides.com

I know that Huss is a German Manufacturer... many of the rides that were in the "Million Dollar Midway" are Huss rides. I know that Troika and the such are Huss... I was simply stating that a Giant Huss has to be more than what one is now before I will get any good thrill out of such a ride...

couldnt they put a top spin, delirium, or frsibee over the lagoon across from the Power Tower, assuming the area hasnt already been set aside.

I agree entirely!:)

Over the past few yrs,I've told many that they need more of these rides at CP. Chaos was a good start. I love that ride. And the flat rides they have been designing lately are absolutely insane!

I did get to try a small version of the frisbee overseas and loved it! They had some very unusual rides over there.

Of course if Cedar Point were to buy one of these, they would have the largest, tallest, fastest, blah blah blah...

Some Mondial flat rides would fit in nicely too. Canadas Wonderland has gotten 3 in the past years (and might get a 4th next year). They're all very fun rides that would make a perfect off year ride for CP.
