The unique story of a ghost haunting the Dentzel carousel at Cedar Point. It seems that years ago after park hours, the darkened lights of the machine glowed slightly, the carousel turned slowly and the image of a woman was seen riding this 1924 Muller carved military stander. The horse, it's said, cannot be photographed without some mishap.
A few years after the Demon Drop, at Cedar Point, opened a man reportedly died while riding. Right as the car reached the top of the climb the anxiety grew too strong to handle and the man suffered a heart attack... Now-a-days park operators say that everyday, at precisely the time the man died, the car that he rode in stalls at the top. Perhaps someone is holding the car back from taking the plunge. Is it that the man's ghost has some unfinished business. He never did get to complete the ride...Alive, that is.
One day a young high school couple was spending the day together at Cedar Point. They had been fighting quite frequently. It seems the young man was a little obsessive and over protective. The girl couldn't take it anymore she was being suffocated. She decided the relationship must end. So she picked a nice quiet spot where the two could be alone, The Ferris Wheel. This is where she broke the news. The young man could not handle it and he jumped out of the car committing suicide. The operator reversed the Ferris Wheel to empty the half full ride and last to exit was the girlfriend or ex-girlfriend I suppose. She had a blank dazed look on her face... The Ferris Wheel is still running today and every night at, 12 o'clock, the Ferris Wheel unexplainably takes a half turn backwards as if forced to repeat that horrible event over and over again... But hauntings rarely occur as a result of suicide. Perhaps the girl needed a place alone for a different reason. A place away from prying eyes where she could conduct some sordid business... Perhaps, but we may never know.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
1. Carousel - The maker hacked his wife up and put her in the horse. When the Carousel left frontier town the horse was put in Town Hall. I think they said one of the TV shows did a story on it once. (CP actually published this one and a variation showed up at halloweekends.)
2. The Giant Wheel story is good. (Same as above) Someone jumped from the top and at the same time during the day (not all the time) the Wheel goes backwards slightly. Which it is not supposed to do. (I think this one is crap.)
3. A guy that was killed during on of the storms that hit the park along time ago still wanders around. (The guy dying is true. I think the ghost stuff is crap.)
I have heard other stories of tragic breakups and people jumping. Usually not true, and no real ghosts. But then again does there need to be?
