Getting in shape for CP

LuvRaptor's avatar
With CP opening soon I was wondering if anyone tries to "get in shape" for those wonderful hours spent at CP? Traditionally to get my legs in shape I used to start riding bareback around February but this year since I'm riding so much, I opted to skip the bareback, but sure I'll be ok. I do alot of walking and standing every day so I should be ok again this season with that.
As for preparing for the sometimes LONG wait on the ride lines?
I HIGHLY recommend WalMart Supercenter---
if you can survive on THEIR long lines, you will have NO problem on ANY ride line this season! ;)

Anyone else do anything to get "prepared?"

I've already started planning days I want to go (that is if my parents will take me then). I am planning to go May 13th....yeah, a school day but oh well! I think I'll be "sick" that day! ;)

I've also been thinking of what rides to hit first when I get there. :)

As soon as winter leaves, I'll start walking around the neighbor again. One lap around is about a mile, so two laps a day should be good. Also started "working out" a little bit this month with weights, but every day is a work out with a very active 3 year running, climbing, jumping, etc. over you all day.

I've gotta feelin', Pittsburgh's goin' to the Superbowl

Not specifically for Cedar Point, but I continue to practice my 12-oz. curls.

I do a lot of exercising in general during the spring just to get rid of that extra weight I always gain around the holidays from my mom and grandma's great cooking... (can anyone say Christmas cookies?) The exercises I like are taking long walks, or running several miles...it's a great way to get in shape and also to burn off some stress!!

I never used to have to "get in shape" to visit the parks, but as I get older, I find it helps to start walking once the weather breaks. I also make it a point to break in my cross trainers so I don't end up with blisters. AND, it doesn't hurt to try to drop a few pounds so I don't look too terrible in a swimsuit at soak city.

I need to stop with the 12 ounce exercise myself. Practiced a little with my volleyball kids last night and was winded after 15 minutes. Time to take advantage of that yuppie subdivision neighborhood of mine and start walking the paths!

Nah...I don't really get in shape for Cedar Point...I think that the whole point of having tired legs at the end of the night is somewhat of a good sign...It shows how hard you worked that day and that all your effort paid off in the end...Plus it feels really good when you get back in your car at the end of the night and get to sit down...

12 ounce curls also. I usually spend Memorial Day weekend at Put-In-Bay. After surviving three days of THAT place, and all the booze that goes with it, I'm in shape for whatever the rest of the summer throws at me.

It's very hard to drink all day...
Unless you start first thing in the morning.

Funny you should mention that, Jo

I was just talking about that with my friend the other day, "Let's do 100 sit ups everyday for killer abs at Cedar Point" I'm sick of seeing those chicks with bikini tops and flat stomachs. OH, I will be one soon :)

I play video games and mess around with the computer every day to get my button pushing fingers in prime physical condition for the season.

I stand for 8 hours a day as it is. If I'm walking, I don't notice sore and tired feet until I'm standing still. But now with my brand new knee problem, I'm not sure what I can handle just yet. Hopefully its enough that I'm not sitting down every couple hours.

I've got pink shoes :)

I take about a 1 hour walk each night, followed by 200 meter windsprints. I figure 200 meters is the distance from the gate to Wicked Twister.

Sorry, I just laughed when I read that. :)

Doing Martial Arts year-round keeps me in relatively good shape, but I could use some exercise between now and summertime.

After FINALLY getting some snow and being able to run the snowplow around the neighborhood, (My neighbors love me for that)...I am back in Midway shape!...Also with Lent ending I can NOW return to the 16oz curls (I like 'em BIG) so I'll be ready for the Father's Day Red Garter Meeting.

OTT

Who is wondering what excersies one must do to be sure their clicker finger is in shape for the summer?

LOL! Remember, this is a family site...not a site for making families. :)
