Getting in early

I'm really not sure how things go at Cedar Point at front gate opening, and I just noticed something quite strange.

I got up at 9:30 to see the first few people/first skyhawk ride on the various webcams. Well when I made it down around 9:40 there were already people in the park. For a while no one could get in the skyhawk line and when they let them in it was still 9:53 or so.
So now my question. Did they let people in early to go get in line, or is there like, early ride time on opening day? I can understand being in a few minutes ahead of time, or after because clocks are different. Twenty minute though?

Just me being picky. ;)

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

On a day with a 10AM opening CP Hotel guests and Joe Cool club members get in at 9 AM, the general public gets in at 9:30.

It also depends on what time of year and what day of the week. I actually called CP a couple weeks ago because of this very thing. I've gotten conflicing info from different employees. Once the clerk at the front desk of Breakers Express told me an hour early and when I arrived at the park, they said no, a half hour. That was a Friday. The following day on Sat, we arrived ready to get in a half hour early and they had already let resort guests in an hour early because it was a weekend. It's best to call and ask about the days you're going to be there.

If you go to the CP website, and go to the operating calander, then click on the date you want the info on, it will tell you the entry times for both the GP and for the resort guests/Joe Cool members.

You're right Grady, but I'm tellin you, I've had the times on the website conflict with when they actually let you in the gates before.

Thats why it pays to get there early, because you never know. :}
