A new Cedar Point TV spot began running this week here in Columbus...it's very low-key, highlighting Cedar Point as a place for families to reconnect.
The odd thing is, all of the images are NOT at Cedar Point! There's a ride that looks like Demon Drop, but with different head restraints. The Dodge Em cars are different. There's a facsimile of Thunder Canyon, and some generic roller coasters.
I'm sure Cedar Fair just relabels this spot for their various parks, but I can't recall seeing a Cedar Point ad that didn't feature Cedar Point!
The one with the slow voice?
KI is running the exact same ad. Why do I know this? Because here in Cincy both KI and CP ads air on TV. Both of them played within about ten minutes, EXACTLY identical with the park name changed.

I've noticed a lot of the Cedar Fair (The Point and Geauga Lake, anyway) don't feature the rides at the featured park.
Michigan's Adventure's commercial only features rides that are in the park.
That is weird that a small park's commercial has its own rides, but a bigger park's commercial features generic rides.
I noticed the same thing with Cedar Point's generic commercial. I watched it and was expecting to see some rides from CP. The only ones I recognized was the mean streak and camp snoopy. I know you can do better than this CP. Try and highlight your park and what makes it great in your commercial and don't worry about the other parks operated by CF. They can advertise them differently because each park has its own uniqueness.
Rest in Peace MrScott
Here in Mid-MI, the only CP commercial that has been shown is the 'Snoopy Ride On' one. No mention of Maverick at all... ;-(

I've seen some Maverick mentioned Commercials her in Southeast Michigan. It even appeared to have on-ride footage. But was probably just extremely well animated.
I'm too sexy for my harness!
