Gemini's 25th anniversary

Should CP do something special to mark the occasion? Sell 25th anniversary souvinirs? Put a special sign by the entrance? The Gemini is an important coaster in Cedar Point's history and was every bit of hit of its era that Magnum was in 1989 and MF was in 2000. I am dating myself but when I was in high school this was THE ride to ride.

I love gemini....hands up on that first drop + my incredible skinnyness = one scared...me. I really hope they sell stuff like they did with magnum, it is still one of the most popular.

I'd be kind of disappionted if they didn't do something (at least some banners around the ride or the park (like Kennywood did for Racer's 75th season) for Gemini's 25th. Mr. Kinzel himself said on the Discovery special that Gemini is one of the most successful coasters ever installed at Cedar Point. I ride Gemini tons of times each visit just simply for the pure fun factor of the ride. It's not about the great airtime or speed so much as just the fun of racing, handslapping, etc.

They sure are spiffy-ing it up with the newly painted station and new wood throughout the ride. Wouldn't it be sweet if they turned the trains backwards for the year like they did a year or two ago? ;) I too think that they should do something to celebrate Gemini.

I think it's funny how that midway contains three coasters that have held (will hold) the world coaster height record...and right across the lagoon is part of MF.

Dan, I think it's safe to say that you are a monster...:) Is that even possible? If so, would anyone that pulled off the 100 be up to doing it again, 1/4 times more?!

I really hope that Cedar Point does something for Gemini next year. I think they should take down the Millennium Force flags that they had flying in our yard and put Gemini 25 flags up, and maybe some other signs around the park would be nice, like with the Magnum 10. Towards the end of the season, I kept advertising it over the spiels, "Come back next year and celebrate Gemini's 25th birthday with us!", and if I decide to go back to Gemini next year, you can bet I'll be saying that everyday.

Gemini is one of the best coasters!!! And every year I go theres never a wait! That must be why I love It so much!!!!!

I think it would be suitable if they did something for Gemini's 25th. I'd like to see a special part of their web page like they did with Magnum's 10th anniversary. Some merchandise would be nice as well, I'd like to own a Gemini shirt. Turning one of the sides around backwards would be cool, but not likely.

It's all about getting around the barrels, or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

Gemini is the best ride in the park, and i am not just saying that either! i really hope they do something for the 25th, especially because it is one of the most popular rides in the park, and has the most people ride each day.

hmmm...I don't really see them doing anything for it since that big yellow and red coaster will be taking all the glory next year, but it would definately be nice to see some banners flying.

I think they should make something that says something like "25 years of record heights." Then they could have pictures of Gemini, Maggie, Millie, and Dragster on it.

They could do something on the 4th of July for it....didn't it open on the 4th of July? Anyone have an exact date? I just remember that winter '77-'78 was really harsh with a lot of snow, and it opened later in the summer.

Gemini 125.....are you...ah nevermind. Yeah I'm in sure heck why not. Another 25 laps no problem. And thank God someone updated the Area 51 forum letting us know there is a cement truck dumping cement, and I thought they used ASSphalt.
