Gemini Train Side Panels

When were the side panels of the Gemini trains changed? In the coaster's earlier years, the trains featured different graphics. I'm not sure if there's any good photos online, but there is one in the book titled: The American Roller Coaster, 2000, by Scott Rutherford (Page 73).

The original design featured a changing color scheme that went from yellow fading into (depending on the color of the train) a red or blue. It appears that the front of the trains were slightly different as well.

On a side note, I wish the original insignia would be restored on the front of each Corkscrew train too.

The Corkscrew thing has always bothered me. If there's one redeeming quality of those Arrow looper trains it's all of that real estate on the nose of the front car. Make it pretty!

Yeah, the front is just bear now. Plus for some time now, the CP logo is now gone from the bottom of the Corkscrew trains as well:

Interesting; I could swear that Gemini has always been silver stripes on the blue train and yellow stripes on the red train. Or maybe it's just my admittedly-faulty memory.

When Gemini first opened the trains did have the color change from front to back that kylepark saw in the book. It gave the side of the trains a cool rainbow like effect

Sorry to bring this topic back up, but a good example is seen in the Christmas wallpaper Walt posted:

Ride cars or vehicles become tatered and worn with a lot of use (quickly) and the whole car (vehicle), during overhaul usually gets a fresh coat of paint every 4 or 5 years depending on appearence. Therefore the Gemini trains - the fiberglass bodies - have been re-painted maybe 5 times - sometimes the graphics get applied the same - sometimes not.

Let me tell you. I worked on Gemini for a couple of years. Those trains go through alot of wear and tare. Like during our down time, we would wash those trains. When trying to get those nasty muffleheads and mayflies off the front of the trains, we would accidentally scratch the decal that is on the front. And also the knicks on the sides of the trains are from the belt buckles that the guest take off.

The fiberglass tubs actually get painted? I thought the reason for those bodies made of that hard plastic was for less maintenance. Especially not having to paint them. I never knew that, and never actually took a closer look while riding the coaster.
