Gemini is still one of my favorite rides at CP. Tough to compete with Millennium but it's right there, maybe because it has some sentimental value to me.
I would love to see CP make some changes to this ride to bring more excitement to it yet again. Think it would be cool to add some time gates to it so when you are racing you can see the differential between you and the opposite car. Have an "official" finish line and a sign that lights up on who won the race. Train the staff to better release the trains so there is always a competitive race.
Just a thought. Think it would be cool.
Going to CP this week in Thursday to pick up our passes!
Ride on!
I'd settle for the trains to be racing at all. Half the fun is gone when there's only one train running.
Proud 5th Liner and CP fan since 1986.

I agree, as ive said before it would be nice if their racer actually raced. As far as a revamp, if it didnt happen with the midway remodel id imagine it isnt happening soon.
First ride; Magnum 1994
Don't change anything! Gemini is exactly what it needs to be. A "finish line" would be cool, but isn't necessary.
I take that back, bring back six train operation! It could be the busiest Saturday of the season, and when that ride was cranking out trains with both sides open, it had shorter waits than it does now with a medium sized crowd.
The thing about a finish line would be that then there would be an exact spot to determine who won. Right now it's the "we made it to the end of the helix brake run before you" vs. the "but we pulled into the station first argument".
A cool thing would be a finish line right before the final helix and then flashing lights on the brake run to signify which side won. Probably pretty easy to do with some photo sensors or prox sensors tied to some relay logic.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Yesterday we arrived at Gemini at 11:00am which is when it opens. To our surprise and delight, both trains were operating upon opening. It seemed like last year they only operated one train for a while.
The ride host wished my 11 year old happy birthday and we proceeded to beat mom & brother who rode blue train.
