Gemini is still the best ride at CP!

i don't care what anyone says, gemini is still th best ride to work and ride. i had two glorious seasons at th ride. they all tell me i'm obsessed. i guess i am. but it is a great ride. all this hoopla over mf. it was scary that sunday, i never want to go through that again. i hate even talking about it, and being on platform. entrance thank you! see u all, enough ramble 4 now, gotta study!
Personally, my favorite woodie at CP is Blue Streak.  I love the airtime and it's pretty smooth, considering the age.  I could ride it all day, which is good, since it seems the lines are shortest on it!
Yes, Blue Streak is my favorite too, but remember that Gemini is not a woodie...

Gemini is the best ride at CP! Nice airtime, quirky laterals, good headchoopers, great capacity, its smooth as glass, and of course what no other ride at CP can offer HANDSMACKING! Unless you think smacking you hand on a support while moving about 80 MPH is fun. Gemini has always had the best spelling in the park period, and that's even if you took away Oscar! :).

It's may not be the "best" in terms of how the ride is, but it still and will always be my first and favorite. I remember every year I would go to CP and look forward to riding others and hours on end. This year I got a chance to ride it the whole day with some great people and was an experience to say the least.

Gemini could lose that 70's computerish Gemini lettering on the front.
Aw, but that's a great nostalgic touch. Gemini is a great ride, but then again, every ride at Cedar Point has it's great points! I agree, though, the headaches can be murder on a bad day...

It wasn't my favorite, but it WAS definitely the most fun!  I had never been on a racer when the trains were actually racing (damn you, Magic Mountain).  I just stayed away from the last row in the back car (ouch) and it was my 3rd favorite after MF and Magnum (yeah, it was behind Raptor).  I don't see why the GP doesnt like it more.
being the ATL this year, I would like to say that I am thankful for your appreciable praise and such. I personally hate the ride now...Eddie Visi needs to have an attitude adjustment and Fikey needs to be less wishy washy. grrr. I am not bitter, I am just...umm...never mind
VOG I thought u did good this summer. i wasn't there
but i had my reasons, but whenever i saw u u seem u
knew what u were doin. this year was a very trying year for all of us at cedar point, and it is going to get worse by next summer. there isn't much i can't bring out right now, but it will get intresting by th xmas party.
Goliath, what do you mean people don't like anymore? It's the most ridden coaster at the park--of all time and of every season. One of the main reasons is, of course, because of capacity, and because the height restriction is fairly low.

I love the Gemini but here is a lil story that I wanna share. I was at CP on Sept 8 and I was standing at the Froghopper with my nephew. I was showing hiim the Gemini and you know where the ride slows and goes around the 1st bend? Well it wasn't going fast enough and it stopped before going all the way around. I stood and witnessed an employee walk up the tracks and literally PUSH the train around the bend so that it would go. LOL. I still ride it though. NOTHING would stop me from riding anything that CP has to offer. I just wanted to share that story with all of you. =)

CP RULES!!

KaraluvsKoasters, I am pretty sure what you saw was Gemini's version of a C Set.  There are brakes up there which are normally just trims, but they can stop a train in the event that the previous train has not cleared the block.  This is similar to a Magnum train coming to a stop as it emerges from the third tunnel.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that Gemini is as smooth as glass. Actually I find it kind of bumpy at times. I think it would help if they were able to put up-stop wheels beneath the trains instead of using that steel bar as an up-stop (also known as a "under friction safety bar"). The Mine Ride is the same way- no up-stop wheels.
I don't know, I like the ride as it is!

Personally, I love the Gemini, and I understand your animosity twards the ride, Dan. But, hey, at least you didn't have to look for the tooth. I rode Gem every day for the summer and I still get a thrill out of it. Even though the crew has changed dramatically over the season, it is still one of the best crews alive, because we love to have fun.

Gemini Crew 2001. I loved the Gem100!!

I dunno.. some of the crew was a little friendlier than others.. but that's every crew... ;)

Rob! I am trying not to cry from laughing at that comment. Just remember, my offer is still on the table. (j/k)

The Gemini takes you up and down a lot and as such, stands as an allegory for life, what with our many ups and downs.
