I've been doing some research lately and need some clarification. Jr. Gemini was introduced at the park in 1979. Were the rest of the Gemini Children's Area rides added that year? Also, I know that the Hampton rides in Kiddy Kingdom were added in 1952. Were the Gemini area rides relocated from Kiddy Kingdom, or were they new installations? Thanks!

Gemini Children's Area is listed on the 1980 park map. I haven't been able to find any conclusive proof of those rides being located there in 1979.
Walt, do you know if krazy kars is original to Kiddy Kingdom in 1952, or were those added later?

I may have an unscanned 1979 park guide. I have tons that I have fallen behind on over the last couple years. But, I would think if the Gemini Kiddie Rides area were there in 1979, there would be a photo or at least a mention of it in the 1980 travel brochure. As it stands, the first mention of it in a travel brochure is 1981. Though, that's the first time Jr. Gemini is mentioned as well. So, who knows. :-)
I'll look through my backlog of unscanned documents tonight and let you know if I find anything.

I do in fact have a 1979 park guide. It is similar in layout to the 1980 guide. However, the yellow box describing "Other Rides" is filled with the line jumping policy. There is however, a separate paragraph on the other side talking about new rides.

As you can see, the Gemini kids area is not mentioned. That doesn't mean it wasn't added too. But, this certainly isn't a point in it's favor either. The look of the 1979 map in the Gemini Kids Area looks identical to the 1980 map. But, is there anything on either map that really stands out as something that is part of the kids rides? I don't think so.

Good eyes Walt. And after looking back at the 1979 park guide, they are there too.
