Gemini 100

Hi, I'm not sure if anyone has posted anything like this recently, but I was just wondering if any groups were going to have a Gemini 100 or something similar like it this year? I think it would be a lot of fun to try it.
I say someone organizes the Cedar Point 48(?) That's right...every ride in the park that an adult can ride in one day.

Is it possible? There's only one way to find out ;)

You better pack your running shoes...

Seriously though, it takes a good chunk of the day to just hit the all of the coasters/major rides, even on a slower day. I think your best bet would be on a JCC ERT day (if they have any this year). You could get in the park early with JCC to hit Magnum, then get on whatever flats/smaller rides you can until Freeway passes get handed out. Get one for Raptor and Mantis, then ride more small rides/coasters until your ride times on those. You should be able to get all of the rides in except for TTD and MF that way, and then you can get those during the JCC ERT at the end of the day. I guess it's possible theoretically, but it'd still be kind of tough.

Has anybody done it before?

I think Draegs idea is worth a shot. By my count, there are 44 "adult" rides plus another 4 "kiddie" rides (Balloon Race, Camp Bus, Lolli Swing, Peanuts 500) adults can go on without a kid.

According to the official site it looks like there are 48 possible rides (51 if you can find a kid to ride with).

Joe and I tried it last year on Memorial Day. We hit a hell of a lot of rides if I recall correctly!

Bucket of beer at GameWorks: $13
Mushrooms for an omlette: $3.50
Hanging out with friends, and getting EXCELLENT partying gifts: PRICELESS

We hit like around 30 of them. Maybe this year we should give it another go?

I own you!

Well if anyone decides to do something like these please post something about it becuase I would like join.
Oh my, no way could I do Gemini 100... I can barerly do Gemini 2 before my back pain is too much for me. I love the ride but I just can't take much of it. This other idea seems ok but I would probably have to ride spin and pukes... which I can't do more than 2 of in a row without.. puking. Guess I'm a whimp. Just gonna have to stick to all the coasters in one day or a Magnum a thon for me again this year.
Not to sound dumb but I'm assuming a Gemini 100 is 100 laps on Gemini in a day? Sounds awesome. That ride in the back seat cranks...

But then again, what do I know?

Ha, last year I was thinking about doing a Corkscrew 100. On an average crowd size day, it should be pretty possible to do it. Now whether your body could tolerate the pain of 100 laps on Corkscrew would be a different story.

For those not familar with the Gemini 100, check out this thread among many others (the event took place June 11, 2001). Also, here is a thread with a video of the event.

That was such an awesome day. I think it was a special day for the 12 of us who finished it. I would do it again but it wouldn't be the same without the same cast of characters.

Holy Crap, Jimbo. I'm up for that. With CP's insanely short cycles on their flats I'd be willing to bet it's beyond possible. ;)

The real test of endurance, though, would be MooreOn's idea of a Cheese-On-A-Stick 5. Ugh!

The most I have been able to do is 11. We wanted to go for 25 to celebrate Gemini's 25th birthday (after the fact), but it was running late, and we wanted to get some other rides in.

The question for 2004 will be if Gemini 100 would be possible again, considering the changes being made to the ride.

The most I have done is a Magnum 12, on a Halloweekends Friday! I hope to do 15 in a day early in the season. I know that isn't much, but I need to do more than just one ride.

A Gemini 100 would be awsome. I would gladly ride 100 times in a day!

Finally, one of these I could do. Cheese-on-a-stick 5. No problem. Would probably have to visit my local heart surgeon soon there after... but I know I could pull it off.
Every year someone brings up doing another Gemini 100.

The Gemini 100 wasn't just 100 rides.. It was an event.. the people involved, the crew that helped and pushed us along..

You can't duplicate that...

(and you can't do it without running 6 trains)

i've always been a fan of the tilt-a-whirl last man standing concept myself. a challenge to make with your group of friends if you will.

for the less brave, you could do a chaos last man standing as well.

i miss my 5 naps a day on weekdays between halloweekends

I'd be game for that, also another question is, what would be the best day to do that? Weekday in May , Halloweekends, or just another day in general?
