While riding Millenium Force I noticed 2 silver rocket ship cars from Geauga Lake laying on the ground under the ride. They are directly under the 1st turn on the island, (look to your right), kinda stuck in or near scrubby bushes. They weren't in very good shape, rusty with seats missing. ( I believe they sat outside behind Raging Wolf Bobs since they were taken down)
One of the three original ships was turned into a prop for Geauga's last Halloween event, they put lights on it and filled it with aliens. The ones I saw at CP are untouched, and would represent the other two.
Although low capacity by Cedar Point standards... wouldn't it be nice?

The old rocket ships at Meyer's Lake was the first ride I ever rode at an amusement park that I remember. Cedar Point also had a rocket ship circle swing . The ride was removed in the early 1960s during the early days of the modern Cedar Point. The ride was near the present site of the dodgems but were moved there from another spot. On one of the videos in the historice segments it can be briefly seen near the sky ride.
I saw that yesterday. I thought that they were the ones from gl.

2006-2007 Geauga Lake rides
They are from Geauga Lake. I'm not positive, but I have a pretty good idea about what they'll be used for. I don't think they're flight worthy anymore, but what great memories riding them in my early childhood.

Who can tell going past the things so fast, but it looked to me like they had the American Airlines logo on them, on the tail.
Glad I'm not the only one who saw them sitting there, at first I thought I was loosing my mind! Lot's of junk sitting around on that island!
^ Yeah, I saw the AA logo on the tails, too. The only thing I can think is that they may have been a sponsor when the ride operated at Geauga. I can't remember. Anyway, they'll have to be removed when CP resurrects the ride for all of us to enjoy again!
Ok, I can dream can't I?

I wonder what they are going to do with the ships. I know my mom loved that ride. It is a nice family ride. I wonder if it could become a running ride?
Life is like a rollercoaster! It is full of ups and downs
There only 2 ships with no other parts of the ride to be seen. And they aren't exactly in an area that screams "I'm waiting for the rest of my parts to arrive so I can be reassembled and become operational."
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
I bet they are there for something to do with Halloweekends.
I'll be Coasting for Kids on June 9th
