Geauga Lake Visit 7/21/06

Had a wonderful visit to Geauga Lake on the 21st of July. The day was great and I LOVE the new waterpark. I even had a dead battery when I went to leave and Park Sec. even gave me a jump.

The park is in GREAT shape since the last time I was there in 2003.

Glad you liked it so much. I also love the new waterpark, as it really beats out Soak City in my opinion. I think the thing for SC is a complete overhaul. Add some slides with color, and some caribbean decor and landscaping (or just generic landscaping). Now I see it as a concrete field with white slides. They were good attractions and all, just not visually appealing in the least.

GL is in great shape this year, and hopefully attendance will reflect it. How were the crowds on your visit?

Thrills Around the Corner!

I was there the Tuesday after 4th of July week.

Every ride was either 1 train wait or walk-on, except for x-flight which was about 3 trains, one side of station in use.

The park is amazing. A million times better than it was when I went when it was SF Ohio.

Coaster Fanatic Since 2003

The waterpark was PACKED the day I was there. The ride side had a steady crowd. They were running both stations for X-Flight.

We went Sunday July 23. The main parking lot was full. The wait for rides was less than 10 minutes, except for the Big Dipper and Pepsi Plunge. The park was very clean and the staff was friendly. However we found getting food to be a problem. Beachcombers and the sit down drive in place had lines out the door. The outside stands had long lines too. We finally found a portable hot dog stand with a reasonable line across form the Double Loop. When I got to the front and ordered 3 hot dogs I was told they were out of buns. They still had hot dogs on the grill though. We checked back later and still no buns. So we dicided to go on more rides.

However, the monorail was not running. Next we went back to Ragging Wolf Bobs and it was down. Back to the front and we found Steel Venom was closed.

Finally disapointed with closed rides and now very hungry we left and went to a restaurant.

Im curious, I dont remember from years before but does geauga lake have holding bins similar to cedar points?

If you mean for rides then yes. All coasters and most rides do.
