Good. I'm all the returning of GL to a smaller, more "friendly" place where the waterpark is the attraction.

It was ok. Nothing to write home about. I guess my post was more the suprise of seeing a commercial as opposed to what the commercial was about. What I've been hearing from other people, there is more Geauga Lake advertising in the Western PA market than in the North East Ohio market. and visa-versa for the Kennywood advertising.

Jason,

That actually makes sense. When I worked at GL, it seemed that people coming from Pittsburgh preferred Geauga Lake to Kennywood, and I generally prefer Kennywood to Geauga Lake (even though I have fun at both parks)!

Going after new markets makes sense, as it is easy for people to get tired of the same thing. Plus, with Geauga Lake, there is basically only one way to go, and that is up, so marketting to Pittsburgh might help finally turn the park around. I just don't like how the park seems to put up billboards right outside Kennywood with the negative slogans. Insulting your competition is probably not the best way to get new guests, especially when your competition seems to be ingrained in the culture of the market you are trying to penetrate. Maybe Cedar Point's marketing people can come up with a better campaign.

Kennywood reminds me of how Geauga Lake used to be, prior to Premier Parks and Cedar Fair, which I think is one of the reasons I like it so much. I think the better coaster count is probably at least one of the reasons people from Pittsburgh seemed to like GL so much.

Now if only GL can finally have a good year attendance wise...
