Now as far as building a 200 foot hyper coaster. Cedar Fair should just take their time with adding this type of coaster. I would rather see them put in a coaster like Disaster Transport in the next 2 years. I know that sounds silly too, but lets face it it's a great coaster for the family.

Yeah, that has about a snowballs chance in hell....

Where in Wadsworth do you work?

My office is in Akron, over on Arlington now. I used to work for a company in Wadsworth, that made for a really nice drive to work in the morning. :)

I work for Louis Perry & Associates. I am a CADD drafter\designer.

The drive from Massillon up 21 is pretty nice.

Oh, nice. My AutoCad instructor in high school used to work for them during the summer months when he wasn't teaching.

LP&A also designed the building for the company I used to work for over on Quadral Dr.

I haven't been there, but I feel like X-Flight is their signature ride because no park in Ohio has a flying coaster and I don't know if they have a park that has a flying coaster

Sorry for going off topic, but how did I miss some news on Wyandot Lake? It is my understanding that the Columbus Zoo just took over management and is planning to develop it even better than Sh*ts Flags did.

They did say they may need to close it for a year to move all the rides necessary for the Powell Rd reroute, but even a year off is worth it to have Six Flags out and potential new development.

On Topic, I went to GL 4 times this year for the first time since it was SFWoA, and absolutely LOVED every trip. RWB is now my favorite woodie (I admittedly am not a big woodie fan) and the waterpark side is great, I absolutely LOVE the Tornado Slide as did my wife.

We are getting Maxx Passes for next year, and will be going to GL quite often.

Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point

Check this out:

http://www.nortonauctioneers.com/upcoming.htm

At the Erieview auction, the auctioneer announced the Wyandot Lake sale. I approached him later and asked him if they were selling everything, or were they keeping any rides. He said everything was going except the land, which the zoo owned.

I hope I'm wrong and you're right. I'm thinking about going to the sale to see for myself.

Edit: I just checked out the coasterbuzz link to the Columbus Dispatch story about the zoo's plans, and it's kind of reassuring. We shall see.

I am happy they are getting rid of Wyandot Lake because our 8th grade class trip is to Wyandot Lake, so now it can be at Kings Island or Cedar Point or maybe even Geauga Lake [never been there so that would be cool]. I am also wondering if maybe Geauga Lake might get some of the stuff that is in Wyandot Lake for the Wildwater Kingdom.

Oh. Boy, that sure explains a lot.

I doubt they will move your trip somewhere else, unless it's the zoo.

Our student council is trying to change it and anyway in 2nd grade we went to the zoo.

Well, I've got some Geauga Lake love to give!
I have been twice and loved it both times. Water park is great and rides side is pretty good. I'll go with the earlier notions that X Flight or Dominator would be their signature coaster(s). Those cannot be found at KI or CP.

Ok I guess now that the zoo is going to own Wyandot Lake and Six Flags will only be able to sell a limited amount of rides like go-carts and little things like that. It sounds like the zoo is going to change the atmostphere a ton in the next few years.

I have a ton of Geauga Lake love, I live here in Aurora, and have been going to GL since 1970 as a young child & now I take my own children there (season pass). I think you get the best bang for your buck here and you don't have spend half of your day waiting in lines. I've preached my praises of GL to everyone since CF took over. Amen, you don't stick to everything you touch here anymore. Sure there can be improvements, but you can always improve anything. Alas, the rumor mill is running here, everyones saying that CF is taking a hard look at dumping the rides & making it a water park only, no other details on that, but that's the buzz on the streets here. I don't want to see that happen. My kids will have a hard time of getting me to drive them to CP any more than 1 x a season. Help us get the word out that GL is a great park & to visit, visit, visit.

There's no doubt the attendance was higher this year. :).

You know how commercials seem to be on TV forever. Well one day I saw a Geauga Lake commercial and I never saw it again.

Actually alot of people think Big Dipper or Dominator are their signature rides. But I agree with you. We need something that sets us apart from every other park in the world.

What about X-Flight?
