Geauga Lake before Sea World

Did anyone visit Geauga Lake before Sea World opened in 1970? What do you remember? I read that in the late sixties some former CP executives purchased GL and began renovating the park. One of the first things they did was sell land across the lake to Sea World. It was hoped that the new marine life park would create interest in Geauga Lake which has always been in the shadow of more famous parks in the area such as Euclid Beach and Cedar Point. And agreement was reached that Sea World would never add rides and such and GL would not add animal shows etc.

Another interesting thing is that Euclid Beach closed leaving Geauga Lake the last major park in the Cleveland metropolitan area.
