Geauga lake

I am interested in other people's opinions. Does anybody
think that geauga lake at some future point would close if
cedar fair did not think they were bringing in enough people?
I would hope not.

Id imagine they would sell it off. I dont think it would close. But, if it is operating on a loss each year, im sure CF wont stick around for long.

I think you're going to see an interesting transformation at Geauga Lake over the next few years, as the park becomes less of a Cedar Point wannabee and more of a high-class local park. If you want an idea of the direction Geauga Lake is going to go, you might have a look at Michigan's Adventure or Valleyfair!. As Geauga Lake finds its place in the Northeast Ohio market, I think you'll see it become quite a sucessful venture, not unlike the way it was before Premier Parks bought it.

I agree with RideMan completely. While we have not seen a great turn around with attendance yet, I think that we have seen some awesome improvements to the park that will hopefully help it in the long run.

The waterpark addition will be the main draw to the park. It was so much fun last year when it was only half completed. I can't wait to get on some new waterpark attractions this year. As for the amusement side, well the coasters are unique to GL because cedar point doesn't have a floorless nor a flying coaster. Like Rideman said, it will be a unique local experience once it has time to redeem itself from the days of six flags. I really can't wait for GL to make some improvements and I believe CF can accomplish that goal.

Does anyone know if the brochue or park map for 2006 have been released yet? I have a scan from last year that shows what the 2005 expansion was going to be and what the 2006 should be. I was just curious how the 2006 stuff will compare to what is actualy done with many people claiming they scaled the expansion back.

They have indeed scaled back the waterpark plans. They now only consist of Tidal Wave Bay and Poolside VIP Cabanas...

The 2006 brochure is indeed out. I got mine at the local AAA office.

I honestly cannot see that happening.... GL is a historial landmark, and the last remaining major attraction in the Cleveland area. Euclid Beach was the first to go in the late 60's...Nobody would stand to see GL close now....... I know personally a lot of my childhood memories are from that place, and it was a huge reason in me choosing to work out there in the first place :)

I agree with you. Same reson why I started working at the park because I just had so much fun there as a child.
