I will be going to CP 22-24 and was pleased to find that that thursday is ERT on gatekeeper. I am assuming the regular line will still be fairly long at close, if the line is 1.5-2 hrs long will we have to wait that long to start the ERT or do they usually close the line down earlier than 8. I wouldn't mind waiting since it would be night by then.
They will close the regular line at 8, then cycle it through, then reopen the line to passholders. My son and I will be there as well. Should work out good since it won't be dark until close to or after 9 anyway.
I've been to ERT quite a few times, and it's been infuriating every time. It's like every one and their brother has a platinum pass, so it doesn't even make it worth it to go to them since it's almost as packed during the day.
I made 3 ERTs last year and they were all great. Made one of the weeknight Dragster ones and did 5 laps in a half-hour. The next night we did Maverick and got in 6 in the hour. Also did MF during bonus weekend in September and got 7 rides and could have had more but we chose to quit.
So im here today taking a break at the hotel...it is forecasted to be quite windy and chilly later on. Do you think if gatekeeper is unable to run that they may do another ride that can operate like MF?
I went to the GK ERT last Friday. Only waited 10/15 minutes to ride.
The weather doesn't look too hopeful tonight. I think it will be lucky if GK will open, let alone any ride at all.
EDIT: CP just posted that ERT has been moved to Millennium.

Ugh. Temperature here in Sandusky is 48, wind chill is 42, wind is N at 17 AND it's raining. (Insert expletive of choice)
I've ridden Millennium in a downpour. Ouch.
I'll drive past on the way to my favourite watering hole. :(
Just got back.....the ert was fantastic.... 15+ rides on MF in the freezing cold and off and on rain was quite an experience. I am glad they did anything.at.all and am.very thankful CP is such a good park. Many parks would have just cancelled the ERT. Apparently i am on the CP twitter now, the guy who runs.the blog came up to me and asked if he could post my face on twitter and i was like sure lol. Great morning and evening at the point today :).
Are you this guy?

Yep lol. It was a great time, everyone was essentially re riding every time. They had to wait for the second train to unload in order to fill the train in the station. 93 mph in the rain and it being low 40s was quite the experience, luckily i had those sunglasses or else i wouldn't have been able to do it.
