games area remodel?

Has anyone heard of anymore news on the games area remodel?

I am curius what this will cover.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

The Cedar Point announcement said "new pageantry and a significant marquee and lighting package."

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Knowing how much CP can get done with so little time in the past I wouldn't be surprised if this would be done very close to opening day. Half of TTD's theming went up a week before opening.

I've heard a little more about the lighting, and my hope is that it meets the kind of dynamic lighting standard set by places like City Walk at Universal Orlando. Everywhere you go, it feels a little like a club or a concert or something. That's exactly what that area needs at night so that it doesn't feel like a big cold concrete waste of space.

I'm a lighting junkie... I'd love to see more of this all over the park.

I think that sounds really awesome, I too hope they do that. If they spread it all around the park it would really spice it up at night, I love being in the park while it's dark, it makes it much better.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

That would be great if your hope comes true Jeff. Sounds like a great, modern idea.

Citywalk does have the lights for nightlife. Then again... they ARE nightclubs. Not that it doesn't look cool.

I, for one, am going to miss the old lights/designs (and it's still painful to see the Johnny Rockets logo instead of the awesome Fascination marquee), but I miss anything that's been around since at least the 80's, so it should come as no surprise. But even I'll admit the games row needed some updating, especially the game fronts. It could really be impressive, but with CP, I'm only hoping they don't screw it up.

Any similarity in name is purely coincidental.

On the webcam it looks like they are getting started on it.

Johnny Rockets I don't think can fit into whatever they do. It's an incredibly ugly franchise, worse than Steak 'n' Shake.

I would also like to see a city walk type lighting system in place.

However, I will miss the lighting that has been in place since I was born.

And a quarter of it came down within the first month. ;)

Don't get me started on the real mistake on the lake of Johnny Rockets Jeff. ;)

I have heard that the old games area deco is already taken down and sitting out of webcam 3 range on the ground.

I am referring to the big multi-colored round symbols just like what is on the main midway games facade. I hear that this whole area by MaXair is getting a brand new face lift!!!

Anything new done to that area will dramatically improve it.

That is what they say. Thank you for reminding us about what is being done. :)

Yeah when I was there last year, there were a couple employees I knew that didn't like the games because of how old it was. My one friend up there complained about walking back because it was too dark in that area. So this will help.
