I was slowly getting annoyed with the gallery. I don't like the scrolling thumbnails. So here is my sugguestion.
Such as on the Cedar Point website:
http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/fun_online/galleries/index.cfm?ntype_id=29
And the TycoonPlanet website:
http://www.tycoonplanet.com/page.asp?page=home&home=RCTIIpics#11october
Clicking on thumbnails will open an image viewer.
Currently I find the images to load slow because of the ads. So if the ads are only on the thumbnail gallery, and the image viewers are ad free. Also, get rid of the scrolling thumbnail list at the top. Make it like it's name sake, a gallery. Maybe like rows of 5. The best example of this would be the Cedar Point website.
Just a suggestion.
The only thing I'd hate more than scrolling/reloading image galleries is popups. Ugh.
Although, that statement does make me a hipocrit.
Yeah, a popup gallery isn't likely.
Changing how the gallery works is on the list of things to do. It's a very long list.
The easiest way to get rid of the ads is to sent Walt and Jeff 12 bucks. Worked for me.

I don't mind the ads. But since there is an ad at the top, it takes the priority in loading. And sometimes I get a blank page for a few seconds.
There are a lot of things Walt and I would love to change about the site, but as long as the content is basically accessible, that's adequate. Aside from having lives, I've also got to think about CoasterBuzz, which has gone unchanged now for about three years. It's long overdue for an overhaul.
