Was it actually confirmed that ID was repainted to match TTD? Because it isn't close at all. TTD is a bright yellow and ID is very orange. I'm with the others, I prefer original colors.

Any chance of open cars for Iron Dragon like Vampire's at Chessington? Would instantly increase the thrill by orders of magnitude.
Would love to see the original colors return. Also was a HUGE fan of ID VR so I'd love to see that still be a thing in the future. If anything were to replace Iron Dragon though, I'd love to see it be a flying coaster similar to Manta at Sea World. Could keep the whole dragon/flight dynamic (but hopefully not another bird-themed ride) and would fit nicely in the area, lots of twists and turns through the woods and over the water. That's just my two cents though lol
Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On!...Arms Down!...Arms Down......
If you take down the dragon it should be replaced with a night king theme ride.
First ride; Magnum 1994
I think those open cars would be great on Iron Dragon, but I wonder about the lift hills. The lift hill chains for ID are underneath the cars, in the above picture of Vampire I see something below the seats, I wonder if it lifts in the same manner.
Also, with those cars you would not get sprayed with water from those canvas covers above the seats of ID. After a rain it takes some time for them to empty.
The lift chains are on the track. I think what's under the cars is just a guide rail to keep them from swinging while on the lift.

The chain looks to be above at Chessington in videos I've watched. Makes such a modification a fair bit more difficult on ID. OTSRs would be unnecessary at least, lap bars would be ideal.
How about a polished, unpainted track? Fits the "Iron" theme. I haven't seen bare stainless steel track in use anywhere else except for the rails on some B&Ms. Supports could be flat black or brown or green to match the trees.
The chain is on the track, above the train, just like on every Arrow suspended coaster.
The track is not made out of stainless steel, stripping the paint will just make it rust.
Changing the trains for more thrills is a bad idea since the coaster is a favorite of riders that like a milder level of thrill. You need something for everyone.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Stainless Steel would be big bucks and you also just cant weld Stainless Steel rails to regular steel spines and cross ties.
Ive never heard of B&Ms having stainless steel rails. if that's true that's very interesting and a cool little fact I never knew
I expect in that case there aren't any stainless tracks in production. They'd have to be milled as one piece, spines, rails. I can see the cost maybe being worth it in tropical/coastal Disney or Universal parks (only they could afford it) where humidity/salinity would make maintenance of unpainted track a constant pain. A shiny mirror track would look good and draw interest as a world first, tied to whatever theming imagineers cook up. Only the rails would stay shiny without regular polishing (screw that job!) The alternative are the "chrome" paints which are of dubious value in this instance. RMC could maybe make all stainless rails for hybrids at least in future.
Here's a video of a four year old riding the Vampire's open cars and loving it :-)
