I like this idea, but my computer won't be with me during the summer. I wonder if you will have the torrents continually seeded when fall hits, since many torrents die off after a few weeks? If not, is there another potential distribution method?
Love the idea, and the quality sounds fantastic.

I just uploaded a new torrent file, so if you tried the previous, please nuke it, and try the new one.

Do you have a link to the new file? If its the same as the last one, it doesn't work. I tried the search, but I'm not getting anything. Sorry, I'm new to this.
Yeah, mine's stalled, too: no seeds.

I'm a huge fan of BT. I have a collection of over 300 live concerts because of BT. My computer is always on uploading and sharring concerts!
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.
My firewall at home won't let the traffic through... that's what the problem is. Not sure why. I've shared stuff before.

Jeff, should pin this to the top of the forum so it doesn't get buried.
Nice idea, I'll just have to get BT set up at home. Looking forward to seeing what you guys put together.

I tried forwarding the listen port for Azureus to both TCP & UDP, to no avail. I'm assuming your firewall problems are causing the problem, Jeff? I was downloading (got about 35% this morning), but have since shut down Azureus after it quit working.
Brandon
Jeff gave a link to Azureus.. If you don't like that one here is a site that lists other clients.

Jeff said he uses Azureus. I personally don't like that one. It's kinda bloated and wrote in java. I would try UTorrent 1.5. It's wrote in c++ and is less then a 100k. Takes up very little resources and has tons of features. =)
I don't think Azureus is the problem, but rather the Windows Firewall. Not too sure, though.

I have tried 3 different programs and all of them don't work. I noticed when I first got to school that Kazza didn't work. Then I read that sharing might not work on a college campus network because of the router. Is there a way to change the router or is that only done by a system administrator?

ThrillRider - Typically, there is no way that I know of to change security settings on a router, unless you have administrative priveleges.
Brandon
And there is no way to change the settings on a router at your college without getting expelled. Since most campus' are now set up to block ports most commonly associated with file-sharing, you're not going to be able download the files unless you go off campus.

Ok thanks for the info. I'm glad I will be at home this summer, I know it works there.

Yes, the program comes in a number of flavors. Actually, I prefer to use this client...http://azureus.sourceforge.net/
The video will be contained as QuickTime files, of course, seeing as how they're being authored on a Mac anyway.
The camera I'm shooting with is a Panasonic HVX200.
Not that bad for a camera. But we want to see it in 1080P. :) which that camera is capable of.

Heh... well, got it downloaded somehow. Is that your cat Jeff?
Never seen a cat eat food in HD before... :D

You did get it? That's weird. Yeah, that's my cat. Pretty scary at that resolution, eh?
A lot of computers will struggle to even run a 720p clip. Most people don't have a monitor big enough to display 1080p. Besides, I have a pair of 4 gig P2 cards, which means I can only shoot 8 minutes of 1080p before I need to off-load them. I get get 20 minutes shooting at 720/24p (native).
