Future Cedar Point Employees

Who else other then me wants to work at Cedar Point next year? As to what would you want to do there? I want to work Mean Streak next year but doubt it as I have school til the 30th of May. And being a first timer they probably wouldnt let me. If I work (come in ) midseason can I still get a chance to operate a rollercoaster? I hope so!~

The best thing I can suggest to you is to apply early selecting ride operations as your first (and in my case only) choice.  Then when they interview you, tell them you'd love to work on a coaster.  I even dropped a few hints in the section on the application where you have to write why you want to work at CP.  The date shouldn't be too much of a problem.  I arrived May 30th and left August 24.  My assignment: Magnum XL-200 - #1 steel coaster on the planet! :)  Some people tried to tell me in July it was #3 and the big blue thing was #1, but I knew that couldn't be the case... :)

I will work there since I will be old enough finally. I want to work in games. I would work rides, except I'll be 4 years too young! :(

O, well!

But what about the operation training of working Meanstreak or if I come in June 2nd can the employees show me?

Yea, you will have no problem getting trained.  There will be several crew members, including your TL and ATL most likely, that have been there a while and will train you.  You will get two manuals - one for general park operations guidelines and another one for your ride.  You'll have to read them over and the rest will be pretty much on the job training.  You have to pass a test before you can run controls and you will have to learn the spiels, but within a week, you should easily be doing it all.  Haha, I remember the first time I did spiels (first day on the job!).  I even knew the whole thing by heart, but I was so nervous that I couldn't remember it and I sounded like a total fool! :)  Just takes some getting used to and then it's fun.

(we should probably take this to the Employee Lounge...)

Even though it's been a few years now, I'd love to work there again - definately as a sweep. :)  I always loved sweeping, you get such great views of the park and know all the details.  Park op is great too, of course, and I'll always love my babies (Iron Dragon and Disaster Transport).  Hopefully, I'll be back for a few weeks next season!  Of course, I'm always hoping...

I encourage you in your quest to work on the Mean Streak. Training won't be a problem for you at all-- that is what the super-cool blue tags are for.

I want to work there next summer on Raptor.  Graduation for my class is on Thursday, May 23rd and I want to get there soon after that, probably that Sunday that is shortly after graduation.  One of my friend's wants to go there too after we graduate and work at Johnny Rockets (sorry all you Fascination fans :))  A friend of mine, Jenni worked on Raptor this year and she probably won't come back, so hopefully I'll just get the spot she had. :)

You don't think that you could get on a coaster your first year?!? I got put on Millennium Force my first season! And I even requested Magnum, because I didn't think I'd have a shot at MF (and by the way, the big blue thing IS #1 thank you!) So give it a shot, send in an app, give  a great over-the-phone interview and you'll be fine! Good luck:)
I would love to work on Milly. That is like an amazing job.. I envy the workers who get to hear the MF announcements all day. But what I'm like 15?? I don't think I would be put to opearte or work with the MF crew ... I would be judged by my age but belive me I know much:) I think I could do it I really could!
you don't want to work at cedar point. go to school. travel the country, write a book. get some real experience in the world. there is no experience like working at cedar point. but come in with some experience, because there is no reality at cedar point. so go starve yourself in south africa, run for public office. then go work with us drop outs at cp. cp 4 life!

If you want and desire to work at Cedar Point, you should do it. I very close to finishing my first season up there and I loved every minute of the expierence. I will be heading back there next year and I advise anyone thinking about it to really look into it and make a decision that you think would be right for you. Sometimes it can be stressful and the days are sometimes very long, but all in all its a great place to work!

Rozz... have you been taking the NyQuil again? Um... could you explain that to me, because I'm not sure if you're saying to work at CP or to not work at CP...
-----------------
Come on Roz, Muffin!! You know that you had fun w/ the MF crew this summer;) (me especially!!) CP is a great place to work, and I totally agree with Gina on everything that she said (hey babe, don't forget to call me the weekend of the12th). After you turn 18 you can apply to work in Park Ops, and it will be an experience that you will never forget. Think of it this way, if you don't like it (I still don't understand how people can say that they didn't) then you never have to do it again.
I plan on bening a Lifeguard next season or a ride opp

Marion, Oh
Point Fan and soon to bee Employee next season (2002 Lifeguard)

Cp is a great place to work, and rozz is right get some experience and travel the world as well. Why not do both at the same time? Oh maybe only foreigners can do that. Ha! Lucky me!

You'll have a blast whichever ride you get put on. I'm not sure you'd want to work Millennium Force as I've heard the crew just isn't the same without Ian and Mark........

(Oh Millennium Girl, if not sure just give em a ring)

Get your fixin's here!

Working at Cedar Point...sigh, as much as I would love to put my two cents in on this issue, I don't think I can because of the negative feedback I would receive. If you are curious as to what exactly I have to say, then please e-mail me or IM me and I will gladly share my opinion. Thanks.

no i say! don't work at cedar point. it isn't worth it. yes u come off with great experiences and great friends. i do have great friends. but atleast with my experience i lost a bit, a huge part of myself. but that was me. maybe you'll be lucky and find the other part of your soul(i think he'll delete this one). hey it's how i feel. just make sure it's something you want to do. i know for the rest of my life i have somewhere to go, if in life i fail. just make sure it's something you want before u call oz or fike.
Working there is a very interesting experience.  I would recomend anyone try it out that's interested.  Just don't let anything frustrate you becasue it happens.  Ignore the boloni and have fun.  It's actually not that bad of a summer job just to get away and let it loose.
