"While you're at Cedar Point, don't forget to walk down the Magnum Midway to catch a glimpse of our new thrill ride for 2003 now under construction, and speculate on exactly what it is. Or you can visit http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/inside_park/webcam/index.cfm and check out what it looks like so you can enjoy the fun of theorizing too."
Man they are really comfortable in holding out on an announcement.

2001 - Hooray For Hollywood
2002 - Hooray For Hollywood: The Sequel
I think we will see a series of announcements, each giving out little bits of information.
Suppose CP make an announcement in November that says "Well folks, thanks for your patience, we are building a 420ft, 100mph coaster". That would do little than confirm what most people know, and by then can probably see on the webcam. But it would also not confirm/deny the L-TH-B track design.
In the meantime, construction on other elements starts and continues. Then, in December sometime, the webcam is repositioned, and there's an announcement "Well, we have started construction on a 200ft overbanked turn on our new ride, positioned over the Raptor". (ok ok, that last bit is my own personal fantasy)
And so the announcements go, month by month. Each time, there's some sick dude who works for CP Marketing getting his kicks out of watching the feeding frenzy after each announcement is made. And in the meantime, CP has managed to keep our firm attention throughout the winter - much better for them than announcing the whole thing at the end of October.
Just my thoughts on it...
