Just to humor us for a bit, what are some of the dumbest/funniest responses to this that you've seen from the general public on facebook, twitter, etc. I'll get the ball rolling:
"Frankly, not super excited about this. this is the same coaster as the last one, Gatekeeper, which sucked"
-Richard
"So glad they torn down the Corkscrew for this! That coaster had been rough for years."
-Kayla
"CP has gone to shorter coasters, gone are the likes of the 3min ride i.e. Rapter and Force. I just think a lot of us were hoping CP would go out of the box and take the first hill dive coaster and tun it into more than just a quick out-and-back 2-hill coaster...and that 2nd "inversion" barely counts... had they enclosed the lift hill all the way to the moment when you are staring straight down, something as little as that would greatly change the ride and increase the thrill."
-Thomas
"This better replace the rougarou. that roller coaster is a waste of time and money."
-Larry
"They are slacking in the huge coaster department. They need another BIG coaster...[insert more rambling here]....WE WANT BIGGER.
-Tim
"These types of coasters are built because Cedar Point has run out of space. I would of [I can't stand when people say 'would of', it's freaking 'would've' or 'would have'] preferred a record breaking flying coaster over lake erie."
-Rocco
The most dangerous enemy is the one you don't know you have.
There was one comment on fb that gave me a good chuckle, "They are finally tearing down mean steak to build this diver ride." I stopped after a few comments, they were too painful to read.
That's not how any of this works.
I'm still trying to cope with the mass share-fest of the stunt guy who's rolling down a wooden track attached to wheeley shoes, with the headline "CEDAR POINT TO BUILD THIS RIDE NEXT YEAR- 'LIKE' IF YOU'D RIDE!"
Multiple people I know have posted about it, all "no way, not me!" I keep starting to type out an attempt to introduce them to reality, then deciding it's not worth it. It's...just not worth it.
From the cleveland.com comments section: "They shoud surround the ride with a 20,000 volt electric fence and an alligator pit to keep people out."
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Doesn't sound all that much more ridiculous than the bitching and moaning you'll find here.
PointBuzz was "social media" before social media was a thing.

"Why doesn't CF do anything innovative?! I mean there are already TWO of these in America and hundreds of miles away!"
-coaster enthusiast 2
"What no splashdown or tunnel?! This ride is a waste of time!"
-ACE member
"CF needs to build rides according to the demands of us enthusiasts and not the 3 million other guests that attend their parks annually!"

"If Cedar Point removes even ONE tree for this ride I am not renewing my season pass next season!"

^^So we're all hipsters? :P
Speaking of, are there any old copies of virtual midway/old projects still alive or buried somewhere. It'd be so weird to look back on what this all used to be.

You'd be surprised how many people I've talked to that are confused as to why they are calling this the tallest and fastest Dive Coaster, when "Dragster dives straight down too, ands that's over 500 feet tall!?"
I've yet to encounter that at all. Most people are smart enough to figure out that this one "perches" at the top first, and is completely different.

Which coaster forum? My money's on pointbuzz
Burritos, Inspiration Point, Fork Balloon Sports, Cards in the Spokes, Automatic Biographies, Kites, Kung Fu, Trophies, Banana Peels We've Slipped On and Egg Shells We've Tippy Toed Over
I've had numerous friends ask me "so which coaster was removed to build this thing?" or "so which coaster are they modifying to become Valravn?"

I had a friend say "at first I thought they were changing Raptor" but he caught on eventually.

If I had more disposable income, this would be active and redirect here.
Edit: Found a few bucks.
They call me Sheehan.
