Unfortunately, seems a little like the difference in your odds to win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket versus if you buy one ticket. Or maybe because there is still some very small chance, its the difference between buying one ticket versus two. Whatever slim chances existed before this announcement would seem to have decreased a little further.
The museum has potential. The one that existed seemed like a half hearted attempt that wasn't much more than a place to shelter from the rain. Thought they would realize on its potential when they announced the update a couple years back. But now that has pretty much faded away.
During the winter chill out this year, I thought walking through the sign shop was a lot of fun. Was great to see some signs/decorations I remember seeing when I was younger. Even a museum with some of those old signs would be nice.
And going through old pics my dad took on visits to Cedar Point when I was a kid was fun too. The park presumably has a lot of similar pics showing the history of the park. Those could be part of a museum as well.
But presumably the park doesn't see value in it. At least not at this point. And maybe the museum outside the park is their answer: if you have an interest in the museum, take the time (and pay the fee) to visit the separate museum.
I found my answer. It states directly on that page that it's located in that same building as the Merry-go-round Museum.
Also, it states that it is not affiliated with Cedar Point/Cedar Fair/Six Flags. Use of the name Cedar Point is permitted under a trademark act.
