Frontier trail and back of the park neglected.

Is it just me, or does the back of the park and frontier trail seem to be neglected? All the new attractions seem to be going in the front of the park, but the back of the park has not seen a new ride/attraction since mean streak. Everytime that I go back there, it is a ghost town because there is nothing new or major back there except for mean streak.

I also think that wicked twister would have fit in great in the back of the park.

I don't think Frontier Trail is in anyway neglected! Millennium Force touches the trail and brings many people daily to that area of the park...I think it looks rustic and beautiful as always..

I wouldn't change a thing. I like the peace and quiet back there! I think a new attraction would certainly bring more foot traffic, sure, but I would hope only that it could be done by minimizing tree removal and routing the actual ride (assuming a coaster) away from the area.

I think you might be thinking of Frontiertown Carzy Horse, Frontier Town is a totally different thing then Frontier Trail. The trail is a bunch of shops an craftsmen, and Frontier town has all the rides and attractions. I myself would be devestated if they decide to raze what's left of the trail for some ride. They have and have had some really interesting stuff back along the trail.

Snake River Falls opened after Mean Streak.

Whats wrong with the park being like that. Often times Frontier trail is a place where you can escape the park. I remember back in the day to me it was another world (I am 17). I would think of it as a secret place no one knew about because there wouldn't be a lot of people there. I like it without the big crowd.

If there is going to be a roller coaster or ride added there, I hope its a wooden one. Mean Streak and all the water rides play into the feel of it.

I like the Frontier theme in the back also....they should have signs when you enter it saying...."You are now leaving 2002, please come back soon"! LOL! It is much more quieter and relaxing back there, but I do agree that the more funnier rides are in the middle of the park and the front.

ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY HERE AT CEDAR POINT...AMERICA'S ROCKIN ROLLER COAST. *CLEAR*

Yeah, I mean, who wants a hot pink tracked coaster back in the rustic area of Frontier Town? It would add some un-needed noise pollution, look very out of place, and damper the theme that is in place back there.

Ahh so you admit that it *is* themed?!?!?

Yeah, I mean, there are shops ride and a setting themed to the west...the mountain at MF really adds to the entrance of the trail.

A new ride would be a great addition to frontier town. But I agree that the ride would have to fit in with the surrounding area.

I agree. Walking out of the FT and seeing MF is one thing, but walking into FT and seeing a new monster coaster (work with me here) right by SRF is quite another...

Actualy, a nice woody or flat ride is more of what I had in mind.

I think that Cp_Rider is refering to the stocks on the Frontier Trail. I myself spend more time on the Frontier Trail and in Frontier Town than I do on the Main Midway. Maybe it's the fact that you can just walk down through there and your day at the park just seems to slow down a bit, maybe it's the tress that provide shade from the hot summer sun that give the area it's special something, maybe it's the smell from the petting zoo (no it's definitly not the smell from the petting zoo). Whatever it is there is just something that I love about the area that I can't seem to put my finger on, and I would hate to see a major attraction added to it.

I think it would be cool if they invested a little more imagination into the area, though. Imagine a live-action show where the CP&LE railroad was 'robbed' by bandits...or a band with washboards, cider jugs and banjoes strolling the paths.

I think those two changes alone--nothing more--would bring Playette running back to a park she refuses to visit again.

Years ago they did have a "train robbery" on the CP&LE railroad. I have no idea why they got rid of it, but I think that it would be a great thing to bring back. I remember seeing on a video of old cp, a bunch of cowboys with cap guns running towerds the train. If memory serves me right, they used to "deputise"(sp?) a few of the kids on the train before the ride started, giving them toy pistals and badges.

Crazyhorse...are you talking about the CP&LE or the old stage coach ride??

frontier trail is one of the last few reminders of old CP, and is also one of the last remaining places to sit and relax. We don't need to build rides everywhere, you need a place of quiet and relaxation..

No...there was a robbery type show on the train, but there was also a stagecoach ride as well.

I say let the trail be. I am still not thrilled by the location of Millenium Force. It encroaches on the last peaceful parcel of land left at the Point. I think Frontier Town got some attention back with Mean Streak and Snake River Falls.

It is cyclical. Now the beach front area is getting some long needed attention. They can't do it all in one year.
