Front of the park curssed?

I started thinking about the problems with WT and my mind started thinking about the "history" of that front lake side of the park. The list of rides that has operated in that area of the past century has been HUGE. First we had the Cyclone there which didn't last long. We also had an aquarium there that didn't last long, we had four dolphins and a sea show that didn't last long. We seem to have a dive show with an uncertain future. We had Avalanche Run which was supposed to be the next big Flying Turns that turned out to be a flop. We have Cedar Point's poor attempt at themeing and the biggest eye sore in the park with Disaster Transport. That area also was home to the Matterhorn and Super Himalaya. There were also the Wildcats that first operated there as well. Don't forget about the Jumbo Jets which didn't last very long. It seems like the only thing that has had a good reputation and has lasted the longest in that part of the park is the Space Spiral. Hopefully the Giant Wheel won't be affected by the curse of this area and even more I hope that structurally speaking that WT is fixed that it won't follow in the steps of all other coasters that have operated in that area!

Maybe it's the ghost of the lady from the old fun house which used to be back there? Remember she was upside down in a rocking chair on the ceiling?
Jumbo Jets was great for the time.

But generally you are right. Maybe it's the whole carnival-like atmosphere of being near the games.

That area actually started out with the Three-Way Figure Eight Roller Tobaggon. Then after that there was the Racer before the Cyclone.

So what's better; skydiving or riding in Raptor's front seat?

I believe the problem with this area is its location. If you look at the park from the front enterance, its the area off on the side and not a direct route to or from anything. If you are in this area, its because you are going to that area, not passing through.

Not sure if that makes sense but it does to me... ;)

Exactly, putergeek. Even way back when Jumbo Jet was back there, you still had to go past the games and I think many people just didn't wander over that way unless they wanted to do the space spiral.

I think with Wicked Twister and Giant Wheel back there, it's much more visible now. Hopefully CP will do something with it's "eyesore", although I don't want to see DT go away...just made into less of a question mark building.
