Front cars.

Hello, I got bored and started searching (don't worry I have a life). I came across a post that said that the front cars on Millennium Force used to be different. I wouldn't know, as I only recently came to like coasters. Now to my question, if this is true, does any body know if there are any pictures of the first cars? If so, please post.

Thank you.

The front cars used to have a front panel made of steel. I noticed later in the first year that the panel had to be welded in places. The next year the steel panel was replaced with a fiberglass panel. Apparently the fiberglass is better able to absorb the stress and vibration without cracking.

The trains looked the same with the steel panel. The difference is not noticeable through casual observation.

I liked the steel pannels a lot better. They were more fun to drum on during the journey up the hill when you are in the front seat. :)

Friday, September 18th, 2003 at 10:10 PM. It finally happened. Rollback on Dragster in the front seat of the gold train!

I thought that the logo was also different. By the way, I would have been druming the Saline Power Cadinance.

Ugh, the drumming! That drives me nuts when everyone sits there and bangs on those damn things. :o)

I don't know if they take the logos off the trains in the offseason, or if it was the year the front changed, but when I rode in the front seat in May two years ago (2002 season), there was no logo on the front. I was sort of disappointed.

Millennium Force is MY baby.
Where would we be without CP?:)

Disappointed? There isn't any reason for that. On opening weekend in 2002 the yellow train wasn't put together yet, I think they were more worried at that point to get the train together and operational than getting the decals on which were added shortly after.

Not put together yet?

Could that have been Richie?;)

I still don't know why they don't add the "new" swoosh logo that they marketed the ride with. The style of writing they have now is similar to the older block lettering that was on the first info card they sent out about the ride.

The Matrix Revolutions

Because they didn't do it the first year, and they have been doing the same thing ever since. It's just a logo, I'm sure the ride won't change because of it.

What ever happened to the other train, I heard it is in Lake Erie with a few other CP items....
Oh yeah, the green train.

The front of the cars are fine any which way, because as long as they're the way they are, I can grab that little hole in the front.

Didn't that little hole have a cover on it before? I thought they had like a plastic over-lay covering the hole...

No, they didn't have a cover.

If your thinking about grabbing that hole during the ride, don't do it.

I just grab it before we leave the station, get some people laughing, ya know?
