Anyone else think this may be replaced in the coming years? I think the new wing place at CB is a test to see how well that does. It would be nice to see something different go in there.
I think they should have their own restaurant in there with their own chef creating the menu, breakfast, lunch, dinner. Forget chains.

Being old enough to remember Breakers when it had the Coffee Shop rather than Perkins, I'd agree with that, but...
...chains are a known property to people, providing a comfort level to them. I get why parks bring chain restaurants in.

There were some years (maybe it's still true) where that Friday's location banked more than any other franchise, and that was on a seasonal operating schedule. I couldn't believe what a zoo the homophobic chicken place was when I was there a few weeks ago (although it does make a case for food locations that server multiple entrees).

I can see that. The Friday's on the Point has little nearby competition. There's been a number of trips to Cedar Point where I wanted to take a break from the park and headed right to Friday's.

But the quality of that Friday's is crap compared to other locations.

I've always heard, too, that that Fridays is the busiest in the nation. So that either says something about that one or something else about the others. I think we have two left in Columbus.
I can't tell you the number of evenings (and the occasional afternoon) I've spent at that Fridays. Occasionally it's sloooow service (and I'm at the bar). The food seems about the same as other locations to me, but I stick with potstickers and Jack strips. I think they don't do the endless apps there, though.
No single Friday's location has a lock on being low quality.

Some free standing Friday's locations have service and quality below the location at Breakers. I have had issues with the other chains as well. The only chain restaurant that I have had consistent service and quality at is O'Charley's.
The TGIFridays at the Breakers has excellent Long Island's and Mojitos, plus top notch bartenders. That's good enough for me. Also, when I've ordered food, it has been as expected, no complaints.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
So you expect well-microwaved food? ;)

I suspect there are rules about the distance between franchises, and there is already one on 250.

What rule is that? Considering there was a TGIFridays on Cleveland Rd. and inside Breakers for how many years? Unless you mean operated by different owners, then in that case, I see where you're coming from.
Rule as in contractual agreement. With most franchise operations the franchiser guarantees the franchisee a designated area where he would be the sole operation of that company. The franchisee may be permitted under the contract to have other units under his ownership, but no other franchisee is permitted to open an operation within the set area.
I don't see why they would take the FRIDAYS out in the Breakers. If it's going good for you, why change it? Plus me and my friends go the one here in Akron, and they always serve good food. I never had a problem with the food on Cleveland road before they changed it over, but at the same time, I'm excited about Quaker State and lube.

And you can have any green vegetable as a side, as long as it's broccoli.
I was referring to BWW in terms of distance/market restrictions, not Friday's.
