Friday night vs Sunday

We were planning on a trip to CP on a Saturday in Oct, but now I'm working. So now we have to go on a Friday or SUnday. We're aiming for Fri Oct 12 or SUn Oct 14. How are the crowds on a Sunday as opposed to Friday night? I'm bringing my son and 3 other 11/12 year olds. They want to do all the coasters. It seems like 5-6 hours on a Friday night will be enough to do what they want to do, but maybe not.

Also, are all the haunted trails best for adults? A couple of these kids are on the sheltered side.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Friday nights have limited ride availability, but all haunted areas are open.

Sundays (except for Sunday October 7th) have all rides open, but Werewolf Canyon, Frightzone, CarnEvil and Fear Faire are closed. Sunday October 7th all these are open.

As for scariness, it really depends on the kid. If you're not sure, then I would play on the cautious side and skip them. In the haunted houses, most of the scares are from jumping around corners and such. The outdoor places the screamsters will come running out of shadows or from behind lights and slide across the ground shaking a can. There is no gore or anything, just a suddenness to the scare.

I always advise that the adults try to go through themselves first and then decide if it's ok for the kids. They ought to know the kids well enough to know how they will react.

That's an even better idea.

Sunday crowds seem worse than Friday to me, but I haven't been there much on Sundays to know for sure. The Sundays I have been there weren't too bad. I do know that Saturdays are abso-freakin-lutely horrible. Gridlocked midways and hours-long waits for everything are no fun. Don't even get me started on the time my brother and I drove around the parking lot for over an hour trying to find a spot (though we didn't get there until 2ish I think).

Personally I prefer Fridays to Sundays since all the Halloweekend stuff is active. You lose out on some of the rides, but I go more for the Halloween stuff anyway at this point in the season.

So even this weekend Saturday is going to be really crowded, or do the crowds get worse in October.

We are considering whether to go this Saturday or the 29th or Sunday the 30th.

The weather looks like it is going to be nice. We really don't want to go when it is crowded, although being open until midnight would be nice.

Thanks for any help any of you could give me

Halloweekend Saturdays are some of the busiest days of the season. You'd probably be happier on Sunday if the kids are geared up for the coasters more than the haunted attractions.

I was just there on Sunday the 23rd and i dont think it could have gotten much better. The sun was shining, it was comfortable in the low 70s and the crowds were minimal. The longest we waited was an hour for Maverick [and that includes the breakdown]. Literally walked onto Mantis and we got in line for TTD at the split before the station. But we were probably pretty lucky all the way around.

I hear Fridays are slow considering its football season, and thats big in Sandusky. My friend and I want to make a trip up on a friday for the haunting. And to my understanding, the bigger rides are the only ones open on a friday. Correct me if im wrong.

The aunted house, IMO, arent the best. Pharoahs Secret is people making noises and jumping out. UR DADE had more gore to it and was a LOT darker. Like to a point you couldnt see in front of you. and when you could you found some light and messed up your vision. but again, just people jumping out at you every now and then. The midways are heavily fogged, and themed to various styles and degrees. Fright Zone is cool. If theres no wind its fogged DENSE. Thats a fairly decent scare. CarnEVIL was kind of lame IMO. Unless you dont like clowns. That seemed to strike a chord with a few of my friends. and I havent been through Fear Faire.

and sheltered or not. Itll be good for them.
