Hey Guys,
Long time reader - first time posting. I'll be making the trip from Pittsburgh this coming week to visit some friends in NW Ohio. Obviously if you're in the area, you have to go to Cedar Point. My question is how scary packed will the park be on Friday the 5th? Estimated ride time lengths?
We were thinking Friday the 5th is better than the 4th...and also better than Saturday as kids are technically in school on the 5th, and people technically work on the 5th...while Saturday everyone is game to come.
Thoughts?
Its going to be busy regardless. Its a long holiday weekend, we are going as well, and i am expecting the park to be slammed each day we are there, thurs-monday. Its open 10am until midnight thursday-saturday, so that tells you right there that the park is expecting huge crowds as well.

Its been full many times over the years. Busiest I have ever seen the park was on a perfect weather Saturday during Halloweekends roughly 5 years or so back. Every lot was full and I heard they were parking cars along the causeway. I know thats the most people I have ever seen in the park. Mean Streak had over a 2 hour wait.

It was funny to read this because me and my friends used to consistently go on this date every year in the early 90's (during the week) because the park would be empty and everything was a walk on. We figured it was from people being hung over and park being crowded from the night before. I guess times have changed....
There are a few days during the calender year I would suggest you don't go to the Point. There is a huge surge in one or two day ticket sales. Holidays are the biggest. Columbus day, memorial or labor day, and halloweekends with nice weather. These weekends provide alot of extra business that jack up ride times to the extreme. I have seen 2 hr waits on Raptor, hr+ waits on Mean Streak with the old turnstiles used, 45min+ to ride CCMR, Blue Streak, Gemini, Wildcat, etc. Not to mention the best 4 coasters there.
Ohio and Michigan have millions of workers who build cars or parts for cars for a living. These companies only give vacation to people with high tenure. Most employees get 2 weeks off. 1st week in July and last week in December. The worst time to go to CP would be during Honda/Ford's shut down.
I can understand that these days may be the only time you have to go. That sucks! You will have to deal with everyone else in your predicament being there too. I can only suggest you get a job in agriculture. If you don't work in the car industry you should stay home this weekend.
Cedar Point is a great place to spend a few days at. Just not this week or on Holiday weekends.
