Freeway

It worked like a charm for me...this helped my day out so well, skipping an hour long line for MF. Definitely a keeper.

How much would it cost Cedar to give out pre-printed tickets instead of stamps? They could even recycle them.
There is a very good reason why they chose the hand stamps over tickets. With hand stamps, CP can limit your FreeWay rides to one for each coaster (unless you can completely wash the stamp off your hand in a short amount of time, which is actually somewhat hard ;) ). With tickets, there would be no way to limit the amount you get because you can just put them in your pocket. This was one of the major problems with Ticket to Ride in 2000 - people would take several tickets, and the tickets would run out in a very short time. This is just one of the SEVERAL advantages of FreeWay over Ticket to Ride.

This system is "first come, first served" supposedly, right? Well, my last visit I was denied a hand stamp for one of the last 3 stamps for the hour of 4-5 on MF. The lady at the kiosk refused to give me my stamp in favor of a group of 3 behind me that got there after me. If you say that your system is "first come, first served" you better serve those that come first first, Cedar Point!

That's terrible!

Yea, that doesn't sound fair to me and I probably would have put in a complaint about that one. You should have gotten your stamp and then the group of three should have been offered two stamps or even if they were just given three to avoid pissing anyone off, it wouldn't be so bad. I know they want to limit the stamps, but one extra would be better than pissing off someone - especially when that someone was there first!

Hopefully by the end of the year the system will find it's way to Mantis and Raptor.
Yeah, I definitely think that Mantis could use it because it had a longer line than MF all day. Raptor's dies down in the afternoon (a lot) but Mantis has a constand influx of people because of the close vacinity of MF.

Agreed. I'm getting annoyed by Mantis. I've been on it once, out of like six visits. The lines are just way too long. Get a quicker crew, another train, anything!
The thing that would make it difficult to implement on Mantis or Raptor would be the fact that the queues aren't really set up for it. It would involve either modifications or sending people up the exit. The second one probably isn't going to happen and the ROI on the first probably makes it improbable.

Raptor really doesn't need it, especially with the efficiency of the crew this year. Mantis could use it, but like it was mentioned, the queue really isn't formatted for it. Plus it just doesn't seem right since Mantis is arguably not on the same level as WT and MF in terms of popularity.

I have only seen a singles line in action once(Apollo's Chariot at Busch-Williamsburg). But I think it really worked. I don't see it helping much on Wicked Twist and Millie but, I think on the four across seatings of Raptor and Mantis that a singles line has a better chance of working. Now only if the park 1.5 hours to the southeast could get singles lines for X-Flight and BKF that would make them even better.

I used Freeway for the first time today and was impressed with it. Other than the fact that my stamp had all but completely faded, I didn't see any problems with it. MF broke just before we were going to get in line, but they told us to come back when it was running, even if our time had expired. We went back shortly after it reopened and got to skip 45 minutes of a 1 hour wait.

The thing I like most (other than skipping the wait) was that not many people know about this. Every time someone entered the freeway line, the people they got in front of had no idea why that employee was letting people in front of them. If it stays pretty low key, I think it will be more successful.

To the people in front of me: "No, those towers aren't supposed to sway like that. I think you should leave the line right now."

Another first time user- my group of 10 had similar hand stamp problems with 1 legible and 3 completely gone. The employee at the freeway entrance let us all in, but suggested maybe we turn in a complaint and suggest the use of wristbands. It seamed that the employees are a bit frustrated with the quality of the hand stamps as well. The wrist band idea coulb be a real good one though, I guess we'll just have to wait and see if anything is done to fix this problem.

The other day, when I first used it, the person at the MF stamp station stamped my hand when I already had a WT stamp with no problem. Then the last time I went, the guy at the MF booth wouldn't let me. They were already on the 6-7 stamps so I was pretty ticked because I figured I wouldn't be able to get one for the day. We went into the MF line to get a ride, and after we rode and came back, we checked back at the booth, and the lady stamped our hands no problem...weird.

Please tell me what time these stamps are given out. I want to get them each time I go. It would help me out considerably!!! Thanks...::smile::

Me to,I would like to know is how do you use them & how to get them?

You go to the little booth that says "Freeway" by both MF and WT. They will stamp your hand with the inscription "Force" and "Wicked" respectively. They will also have a hour long window on the stamp in which you can enter the chicken run (next to the normal queue entrance). This line merges with the normal line. There will be an employee at this merge point to stamp your hand with a "Cedar Point" stamp, therefore voiding your freeway pass. I recommend getting a MF stamp as quickly as possible because they run out much faster than the WT stamps. Also, don't go to the ride right at the beginning of the time given to you because that is when many people enter the line, making your wait longer.
But what time do they start stamping in the morning?

God bless ya'll!!!!

From opening...not many people know about it, and they don't announce it so many people think the booth is just another midway vendor. I personally would like to keep it that way...:)

I don't think they start stamping hands until 11:00am. I believe the earliest return time is between 1 and 2.
