FOX 8 NEWS story about Read to Succeed Passes

This would have become a story regardless of the debate on Coasterbuzz because of the nature of the issue. You could just as easily say that Six Flags made an "anonymous tip" to the station (even though I do not believe that) about the program and how Cedar Fair is treating it.
And the Six Flags season pass I bought after the sale was announced, still says it is valid at SFWoA. Point: six flags is a poorly run company that really doesn't care what their customers think of them. For all that Six Flags knows, I could be the average consumer, not reading the news about a park 12 hours away being sold, but I could also be planning a trip up to Cleveland to use the pass at GL.

As for these passes in this issue, maybe CF could contact the Cleveland area schools that participated in this program, issue GL tickets that are "free child admission with the purchase of a full price adult admission". I'm sure tickets of this nature are going to be available at least in a limited form anyway.

It looks like CF changed their minds. The website has been changed.

They made the right choice even though it probably took bad media coverage to do it.

It also makes sense that they're not accepting the original voucher. That way they can make sure it's only the local kids who can take advantage of it.

Which is what they should have done from the get go instead of just rejecting it all together.
I respectfully give credit to the powers-that-be for their change of heart.

It would have been the right thing from the beginning and it is the right thing in hindsight.

They're only allowing the vouchers/ticket exchange to be used for a limited time, from May 1 to June 25. That's a good decision, too...they can get people into the park with the program during a time where super-high attendance wouldn't be "normal" due to vacationers (for example, July or August).
