Hola, Or Hello from Spain.
Actually I am a Michigan kid who is a Foreign exchange student here in Spain. I Love Cedar Point. My Question, Which I don't know if it belongs here or in the Trip Planning Section, so forgive me if I posted in the wrong section.
Anyway, my host family is planning a Trip to the USA this summer. I have shown them pictures of Cedar Point, and they are excited and would love to go. So they are planning a visit here to visit with my family and we are Definately going to go to Cedar Point. Show them what America is Like and what better place to Introduce them, than Cedar Point.
Now my question, Or theirs, to be exact. Does Cedar Point have a bank inside that they could exchange their Euros into Dollars, or should they just bring their Credit Card and let the Issuing Bank do the work?
I tried Cedar Points Official Website, but could not find anything on it....
Thanks again.
Buenas Diaz and Gracias.
Bring the CC card and let the bank do the work, no exchange that I know of. Casino windsor (Caesars) will flip the money for free though ;-) I convert UK pounds there all the time.
Yep, your best bet is to either see a travel agent before hand for some US Traveler's Cheques (for you Vince) or to just do it with a Credit/Debit card. A Debit card would be best as then you can get cash, not all the food stands in the park take cards yet (I don't think).
Goodbye MrScott
John
Cedar Point offers Canadian currency exchange, but that's it. So for your situation, it would probably be best to use a credit/debit card. I'm not sure what CP's policy is on taking traveler's checks. I think we could accept them in admissions, but I never had anyone try to pay with them, so I'm not sure.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Another possible thing you can do is Beagle Bucks. More less gift certificates. You can buy these right over the phone, through the mail. However, I'm not sure if they'd be shipped to Spain. You'd have to call and ask.

Nope I just stick with getting my US money at par from an undisclosed source.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Be careful with the debit/credit cards most banks charge a fee for all foregin transactions. One of my cards charges $1.25 + 0.5% fee for each trasnaction, every card is different so check with the banks first. I change my money at the money exchange at the airport unless i am going somewhere with a casino most casinos will do it for free.
You can cash up to $200 in traveler's checks at the park operations office.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I would avoid those airport exchange stations. They have large fees. Before you come to the States, go to your bank where you have your account in Spain. They will usually be happy to do an exchange for you at a more resonable fee. Just don't wait until the last minute, as they may not have a large inventory of dollars at your branch and may have to have it sent to them from another one. This is what I do when traveling to Europe. Then use your credit card for any large transactions.
The foreign currency fees are sometimes passed to the merchant depending on the arrangement. I have a slightly higher discount rate under some circumstances when I get foreign CoasterBuzz Club memberships. It's not significant, but annoying.
