For those coming from Michigan

During my June 2002 CP trip, it seemed like half the park was decked out in Red Wings merchandise.

Can I assume that this year all of that will be tucked away in your closets in favor of Pistons gear? ;)

But seriously. Enjoy the championship. It couldn't have been better for those of us looking forward to the end of the Shaq, Kobe and Phil show.

The only thing other than CP that Steelers and Browns fans agree on

All I know is that you can't pass a gas station up here without seeing a tent chock-full o' Pistons gear.
I know what your talking about Brian. They're everywhere!

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

I'm not even what you would call a sports fan, but i'm as excited as everyone else.

They deserved it.

Yeah but when the Red Wings were still alive the Pistons were an afterthough. Ask someone in Detroit how the Pistons are doing they would say. "my engine is running fine." HAHA

Dan

Geeez. Even after the Pistons spank the Lakers they are getting no love. I guess they'll just have to repeat and prove everyone wrong. AGAIN!

Columbus has a hockey team? Those NHL teams move around so much, it's hard to keep track.

The NFL, MLB, and NBA are the three major pro sports. To me, the NHL champion isn't any more important than the winner of the Arena Football League championship. :)

My condolences. Coming from a Flyer's Fan. ;)

Don't like the Pistons either. Coming from a 76ers fan.

Truthfully, I was glad that Detroit won the championship. Mainly because my roommate and brother are big Laker fans.

Funny, I don't remember hearing too many complaints about Dynasties when it was Michael Jordan and the Bulls.

Thats until you see the Stanley cup up close and here its history..Its my favorite of all the majors..I went to the hockey hall of fame in Toronto a few yrs ago and that was an expereince. Have to remember Walt that Michigan is a Hockey state with the Wings rich tradition..I agree the sport is not snuf in ratings as the others but with our State owning 10 cups its a HUGE thing in MI..

Long live Lord Stanley..(Even though it is trapped in Tampa Bay)

Get this though..The owner of the Tampa Bay Lighting, Detroit Pistons, and the Detroit Shock is Bill Davison..What do all three of those franchises have in common right now?? *** Edited 6/17/2004 7:05:18 PM UTC by Jeffrey Spartan***

I agree Jeffrey. I got to see the Stanley Cup up close at a hockey tournament. Our team was even allowed to take a pic with it. Very awesome indeed! Wish I could've hoisted that thing above my head. If I'm not mistaken, it is one of the oldest professional sports trophies around.

The answer to your question is they all won their championships. At least, that's my guess. I don't really don't know about the shock though.

If you go to the shopping district in my city, you can't take any more than 20 steps without passing at least one place selling or giving away Pistons crap.

Don't forget the Cleveland Crunch were 3 time NPSL champs in that period! ;).

Yeah, that may be, but you still have to live in Michigan! :-)

The stanley cup is THE oldest professional trophy. It is also the only one on which the names of the winners are annually engraved. That I think adds to so much of the history and the beauty of this trophy.
Long Live Lord Stanley.
