For $850 is it worth it???

I think that they should be banned from the park I am always telling kids that my line is not a skate park it is only a matter of time till someone gets hurt....

Ohhhh, those. No way is my daughter wearing those to a park -- though I didn't know they gave a little 'boost' to height. That would have been an interesting debate I would have had in my head, had I known that. Ah well, since she's over 48" now, it's a moot point . . . at least until she gets close to 52" . . .

They actually look like fun to use. You suppose they make them in a men's 12W? ;)

The soles are really thick on those things to accommodate the wheel, so I can see them easily adding a couple of inches to a child's height. The park's stance is that the wheeling/gliding part of the shoe is not allowed to be used inside the park, but there's no ban on the shoe its self.

Wow, there's a "we hate Healeys" convention going on in here! My son used/loved his for a good 6 months w/o any problems. (He's lost interest now) Maybe you guys have had bad experiences with kids whose parents aren't teaching them to be responsible.

^I didn't realize they aren't allowed to glide at the park. I see them used alot there although my son didn't want to wear his at the park.

Speking of Heelys, I guess you could wear them without the wheel, and the holefiller-thingy in, Yes, they do come out. My cousin has a pair and she can wear them to school on Fridays, but with the holefiller in.(She goes to a pivate school, hence, FRIDAYS.)

Is this about the shoes or the park? Did not know we were making or not making an endorsement....lol. Anyhow the park is great, only time I come is this year. I spend nearly 2 grand on my room at the hotel, just going earlier this year. But it is worth every penny!

I know why Gonch had to pop in for an off-topic footwear discussion. He's secretly built a Heely downhill track in his back yard and is counting it as a coaster credit. ;)

No wides though, Mike. I guess we're both out of luck since I take a 4E.

A 4E? What do you have, Mr. Potatohead feet? ;)

(No offense to any actual Mr. Potatoheads who may be Pointbuzz members.)

Put me in the same boat.

I'm more against the kids who use them haphazardly and the parents who allow them to do so.

I'm only against the parents that allow that, but I'll clothesline their kid to make my point. ;)

I'm suprised they're not banned already. It might be a little hard to enforce, unless they make everyone take off their shoes like airport security.

No, just make sure the parents know that if their kid is caught with them, he will be asked to remove the wheel. If he (or they) refuse, they will be escorted from the property and asked to not return.

I used to do official measurements for the park... kids in the wheeley shoes had to take them off to be measured... so they would have been better off to wear regular sneakers... at least they'd have the height from the regular sole of a shoe to help their height.

As for your kids, it's their birthday gifts right? Why don't you ask them if they'd like to go to CP as a gift, or if they'd rather have a party at home with their friends etc.
