FOOTLONG HOT DOGS

why did cedar point get rid of the footlong hot dogs.........whats next the carousel...........the cotton candy............footlongs are a tradition at amusement parks..........maybe they werent selling enough..........the stall was always crowded............hey might as well get rid of the carousel not enough people ride it............but you keep things ............

You didn't use nearly enough "..." in your post. You need more to REALLY get the point across.

I think he overused the capital letters though.

Really. It's almost like I'm being yelled at.

Anyone else thinking of Silence of the Lambs?

They got rid of footlongs at the Indians games when the tribe moved from the old stadium to Jacobs field.

Just changing with the times and customers buying habits.

Seriously? They got rid of the footlongs? That does suck. It is sort of a staple of the amusement industry.

Wow! As much as I love the effect of the (...) punctuation, I really had to read the post about three times to figure out what was going on. My eyes may hurt. What's wrong with capital letters?

Anyway, I do know what you mean, the footlong hot dogs are kind of a part of an amusement park. They probably weren't selling. Perhaps it was time to get more variety in the park.

I agree stuff changes and sometimes there is nothing we can do about it. I don't even remember foot longs being there last year but not sure why maybe they didn't sell that many.

Caitlin

I remember them from last year. They were pretty horrible. They were about as big around as a pencil eraser and had no taste. You were better off with a regular hot dog.

Fight the Shapers . . . Join the Resistance . . .

Then theres a good reason why I wouldn't remember if I had them. I like regular hot dogs anyways so it all still works out for me.

.... Helloooo Clarice..... ..... Closerrrrr......

If a regular hot dog at the Point is now almost $4, imagine how much a footlong hot dog would be. I don't think that anyone would be willing to spend $10 on a footlong.

Despite that, I would much rather have 2 regular hot dogs, than a footlong. They have always tasted horrible to me. And way too thin. What am I doing? Sitting at work, rambling about my Hot Dog preferences....

I seem to remember always seeing a Sugardale hot dog sign in the back of Frontiertown at Roundup. I noticed it was gone, along with the footlong hot dogs. In grocery stores, I always remember only seeing footlong hot dogs made by Sugardale, so maybe Cedar Point changed brands.

Their footlongs were pretty nasty anyway..the regular ones are better in my opinion.

If they werent selling, they had to get rid of em. Meat prices are soaring right now, and they're only going to go up even more. At my work these next few weeks, we are having to remake/reprice our menu because of this. With chicken and beef already going up $0.30/lb, and being told by our meat provider, that beef is expecting to go up another $0.70/lb, we have no choice. It's all pretty much because of the rise in corn & wheat prices. If it keeps up, the 0.99 cheeseburger may become extinct.

The last one that I had last year was not too tasty, though.

I remember getting them at the Gazebo years ago. Always with cheese and bacon. Yummy!
