Food stand pictures

I was looking through the pictures of the food stands and I just wanted to let you know that the food company actually goes by sagebrush sue's--and that hot diggity dog is now a employee break area.

... or Sagebrush Sue's Frontier Food Company. Same difference.

It's not that we didn't notice Hot Diggity Dawg was gone (or reported about it here before the 2005 season started :) ) We just have no convenient way to delete old galleries. Think of it as a happy memory. :)

I'm still amazed at how dang near everything in the park has been photographed by you, Walt. When will your gallery of bathrooms and trashcans be up? :)

Well, there's at least one restroom picture floating around the galleries. And I've taken trash can pictures, but I don't think I've uploaded any. I've got vending machine pictures, too. Once last summer I spent a morning just taking pictures of signs. One kid passed me and I heard him say, "Dude, it's a sign." The park is so big. There's just so much to photograph.

I was thinking about it yesterday while working on the update. There are over 3,000 photos in our gallery, but there are so many areas and attractions that I've barely touched on. There's no reason to see it stop growing.

My photo quest, and really the reason why I even started Virtual Midway in the first place, comes from a history perspective. There's so much that is gone now that has not been documented. And that's why I take as many pictures, from as many angles as possible, of everything I can. They've done a good job of letting us know when things are going away, but sometimes the little stuff doesn't get announced (which makes sense). No one else may care, but I'm happy that I have pictures of Lotsapalooza and, before that, Stuffed Shirt.

Ten years from now, I'll be glad I went overboard on getting photos of WWL.

I'm guessing the new CP Fanatic who just visited the park for the first time might be glad as well.

I sat today and looked at all of the Dragster construction pictures from the CP website. Since my first time going to the park was in 2003 I only know the park as how it is (with the exception of maXair, and soon to be Skyhawk) today. I can't get enough pictures of the past. Walt, when you posted those pictures of Troika in its former location I was ecstatic. Spending a day at the park just to take pictures would be just as fun as riding. I love taking pictures, but as it happens, it usually isn't sunny out when I'm there, pictures just aren't the same when it's gloomy.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
