Fog

Hello everyone.

It's about 10:25 here on the east coast. If you take a look on the webcam right now, you can't see the tower at all...even from the ground cam.

What I wouldn't give to ride it in conditions like this!!

BTW...is it safe to run a ride as massive as this...without having an actual visual of the train?

I would think it would be safe to run in weather like this. Let's see, It goes up one side and down the other. If there isn't a rollback I would say it's safe to assume it made it over the top.

Or maybe it gets stuck right in the middle of the tophat. Then we have a bermuda triangle thing going on. ;)

WTC plan Approved. A structure that will stand 1,776 feet in the NYC skyline. It will be the tallest tower in the WORLD!!!

I bet the fog has no effects on the ride's complex computer system, so I'm sure they could operate the ride just as safe. I was at school the first half of the day, and the fog just rolled out about an hour ago so I didn't get to see it (or not see it) in the fog. It would be kind of cool to be falling and not being able to see the end of the drop...

Check out the webcams - right now in the high shots you can see the top of TTD and MF sticking out of the fog...pretty cool.

44 days to my first ride on TTD

I haven't been lucky enough yet to gte to CP when it's been foggy...but riding Dragster in the fog would be an experience I'd like to have.

Riding Millennium Force on Friday's during Halloweekends was great. The fog from Fright Zone was covering the track between the first overbank turn and the the tunnel. You literally couldn't see the track ahead of you. Had I not ridden MF before, I wouldn't have known when the track would turn left into the tunnel.

Being up above the fog and falling down into it on TTD would be a lot more exciting though. At the top of the ride, it would be like being in a plane above the clouds.

Being able to see the ride isn't going to prevent it from breaking. Come to think of it, I don't think there's any coaster other than Wildcat and Twister where you can see the entire course at one time.

I was just at CP, walking around in the park, at like 11am, I was standing by Sky Ride west; you cannot see TTD, and barely make out PT! The fog there is bad, it's all thanks to the lake, off point it's fine. It was odd, I walked back by wardrobe and could then see the top of TTD. I'll tell you that pictures do NO justice as to how tall this thing is, it is a lot wider than it appears in pictures too. I was like 3/4 of a mile from the tower, and I still was staring in amazement. Can't wait till April 21, I'll be on that thing ( I hope)

You can see all of Woodstock's whole track at one time.

I grabbed an image from this morning. It looks heaven sent. You can alos tell how much taller TTD is over MF.

Great pic! That is a pretty good way to compare the height, assuming that the fog forms a somewhat level plane.

Interesting thought. Could they run TTD in fog, like in the picture? I personally don't think they would run TTD or any other ride where, part of, the ride is above the fog.
Yeh, they should be able to run any tall ride in the fog, MF, TTD, ect. due to the computerized control systems that keep track of the trains throughout the entire ride.

Mozilla 1.3 has now been released. Download it now for a better web experiance.
