Fog

I am getting ready to make my annual trip out to Cedar Point next week and I was thinking about something that was talked about heavily last year on these forums. After looking through pages of posts, I didn't see anything about it so I thought I would ask...

Did Maverick ever get the fog back in the launch tunnel like it was originally planned to have?

Sorry if this has already been discussed this year, but I couldn't find it in any of the old threads.

Thanks!

Nope still gone.

I believe they were having issues with the sensors inside the tunnel. I also heard that when/if the employees had to enter the tunnel, the fog didn't clear very fast and the employees had a hard time seeing.

The ride is just as exciting without the fog. It didnt add that much anyway.

^ I disagree. Although the ride is still amazing without it, the fog added another exciting element to the lineup. The lights were enhanced, you received a nice cool slap in the face, and you couldn't see the light at the end. Too bad it caused problems. :(

Am I wrong, or weren't the only people to have experienced the fog the Red Cross Inaugural riders. I was one the people on the lift hill when we had the roll back during the Red Crodd rides. They sut it down after that and I don't ever remember the fog being on after that.

Yes, the fog came back on the day of the Joe Cool night on Maverick, and that is the last time I ever saw it

If they are just going to have it on special occassions that pisses me off. Fog makes everything better and just to have it there a couple days of the season is just dumb.

^Pesses you off? ;) Anyway, I like it better without. It wasn't so much a fog as it was a mist and being that I wear glasses, it would get them wet and after coming out of the tunnel I couldn't see.

The fog was on into late June last year. I was there on June 25th and the fog was on...

And while we are on the topic of fog....Has anyone else seen Iron Dragon's get out of control and drift over the midway to Power Tower? During my last trip this happened, and I wondered how common it was.

^I have noticed that too! It is nice and refreshing though when walking down the PT midway.

Yeah it feels really refreshing. Whenever we see it we run toward it!

We went to CP for Halloweekends in 2001. I remember the entire day, Iron Dragon's mist was pouring out into the Midway. I have never been back for Halloweekends (due to lack of funds :( ), so I'm not sure if it was by accident or a Halloween effect.
