Think of your feet inches from a trck at 100 some miles per Hour that would so cool. Any input?

I don't think it would be able to navigate the heartline twists with floorless trains and Intamin doesn't make them either.

Ohh it could be done.. but the chances of this are less than 1%.

That would make this ride thats already going to be the most extreme ride on the planet.. twice as insane!

I would think there would be too much wind resistance with floorless trains.

IMO this isn't the type of ride to be floorless. It would be cool but I'd rather see CP get a B&M floorless with a lot of inversions and turns.

Floorless rocketcoasters is very intriguing, considering the fact of the alternating colors during the launch. If designed properly, then people sitting in the rear of the train can see what the front of the train sees in regards to the track and get a true sense of speed as they look down and see the colors whiz past them.

I didn't even think of that. What good would an alternating color scheme be if it only affected the front passengers? It makes me wonder if they don't have any surprises left for us!

What about having a regular train but with a clear floor. Actually, I believe that anything besides a standard intamin train (maybe a few asthetic changes like Xcelerator) is highly unlikely. I doubt that Intamin would test a new coaster type on such a high-profile ride. But I hope that I am wrong!

A clear floor? I'm sure something like what you're suggesting would most likely be a plexiglass-type substance. Which, would quickly (in the matter of a few hours, no doubt) become very, very dirty -- rendering that idea pointless.

I do, however, think we still have one more surprise in store for us... and I do think it will involve the train design. As I've said before, I don't think CP would let the announcement (or lack thereof) run out after everything had become blatently apparent. There's still one more trick up their sleeve. There has to be, otherwise the announcement will be rather lackluster.

For comparisons sake: How far along in construction did the trains arrive for WT and MF? I have some research to do...

( edit: ) After flipping through the construction diary on the official site, the first mention of trains being on site was February 10th. On that post, the trains (4 cars of a train, anyway) were being used to test the braking system into the unload station. I'm thinking we'll get an announcement before the trains arrive.

Floorless - maybe but unlikely. Flying - now *that* would be cool! Also unlikely, of course...
