Floor

I thought for sure they would have a floor that droped down like the one on Raptor. Because now they have to make sure that no ones feet can tuch the ground. I think it would have been a lot better they had one the the droping floors. I want to know what your thoughts are.

Aren't they adding a dropping floor to V2 at SFMW? I would think it would help with liability and safety issues... but hey, either way I'm on it!

Hello everyone. Long time lurker here at GTTP, thought I would finally register and post.

Anyways, as far as the dropping floor thing goes, I always figured the reason they didn't do that is because the train flys through the station at 70 mph, and if that floor were to come up for some reason, bad news for peoples feet. Then again, they are doing that to the SFMW V2, so who knows.

I'm sure Cedar Point has taken into consideration that people are going to be flying throught the station at 70 MPH and that people's feet might get hit on the ground...I think they have adjusted the height of the track and the floor so even a very tall person will come through at no problem...I'm not too worried about it because Cedar Point wouldn't intentionally try to hurt us...I'm sure this possible scenario has already been thought up and discussed...So it doesn't worry me to much...I trust cedar point and that won't keep me off the ride this summer

Hmmm. Would a moving floor add time to loading and unloading? That could have played a big factor. I am assuming it would. It would take longer for the employees to clear the moving area and even more time for the floor to be raised and lowered. Even a few extra seconds is a big deal to CP.

On S:UE you pretty much have to HOP up to your seat. It will be the same here. There is plenty of room from the floor to the train.

Nobody will hit there feet. Goku...I mean Kakarot hit it right on the money.
Heck, there's almost pleanty of room for you to cruise through the Raptor station without the floor moving.

Haha, speak for yourself! :) I can easily touch the floor before it has dropped when I'm boarding Raptor. I like the feeling of "pushing" it down as it lowers... :)

Well I know they are not going to the that dumb and have people's feet tuch the ground, but what I was going for he is the for the shorter people they will have to jump up to get on the ride. I just thought it would be nice if they had somthing to make it easier for the "Vertically changed" people.

Maybe the employees should be ready to assist the vertically challenged people with step stools to help them into their seats...I can just imagine the employees running out with step stools every time someone can't get into the seat... :) I also can touch the floor of the raptor while being in my seat before it's lowered...It's kinda cool to feel it drop out from under you

Yep kakarot has it... believe me, they definitely take this stuff into consideration (safety is huge), and to take care of it they just have the seats up really high. I don't know about helping out the vertically challenged though...

Almost

I have no problem getting into the Seats of SUE, Volcano, V2 etc. but at 5' 6", I have to reach with my toes to find the floor getting off the things. Makes for great instant shin splints, Ouch!! What makes it hard is the saddle horn You have to lift yourself over that and then drop to the floor.

I'm sure CP has no intention of doing any split second amputations....I'm sure there is something there, that we can't really see. I have noticed that the pictures do tend to make things look a lot smaller and crunched than they really are.

I agree that CP will most likley have something to avoid anyone getting hurt or stuck.

"HUZZAH!"

On the step-stool idea, that's what they do on Vertical Velocity at SFGAm. At the same time, the added height makes it especially tough for those who are borderline (height or weight) to ride.

Maybe the lack of a floor saves a few seconds, and I know it saves a lot of money and/or space on the loading platform for other things.

At any rate, I wouldn't do it any differently than what they have on V2 and S:UE. I'm not sure why Deja Vu has a moving floor, though...
