First time season pass holder question

Last year we were going to skip opening day and arrive on Sunday, but at the last minute we decided to go ahead and go Saturday. We arrived around 2pm and weren't surprised to wait 3 hours to get our passes. The wait was bad but we got in around 5pm had 5 hours of rides, including a night ride on MF and got to watch the fireworks too. There something extra nice about being there on opening day.

There are people that drive one hour to get to work each day (me). I recommend going early and save yourself the headache. It is 1.5 hour for us and we only waited 10-15 minutes on a weekend in April 05. It was kinda neat seeing the park still quiet after a looooong winter and talking with one of the CP employees about his 1st experience on Maxair. We also checked out some of the state parks, did some bird watching (which is really good late April to mid-May along the Lake Erie shoreline) and went for a stroll on a beach nearby, so we made a nice day of it. Take the scenic route along the lake and enjoy!

If you do CP-DAD's option, make sure you check out Marblehead State Park. Great view of the park from there!

I enjoyed Battery Park. Not the most scenic place, but still a good place to watch ride testing and see the skyline in all it's beauty. No to mention it's not a half bad place to do some fishing.....if you enjoy fishing.:)

That's the exact same situation we're in...but it turns out it's actually cheaper to get a MAXX pass at Dorney that it is to get a regular pass at CP!

After reading everyone's responses, and of course factoring in my own personal preferences, I've decided to head up to the park on Sunday, April 22 and get my season pass pictures taken!

I'll try to post a park visit post based on my experience.

Yes. Save yourself a trip, and get up earlier that day. You'll get it done quick, and be one of the first in the park!

My wife and I arrived on opening day at 8:30 AM. We got t front row parking spot, and were third in line at the season pass center, and one of the first 50 people in the park.

Did the line get long? Well sure it got long, and by 10 it was enormous. But why not just get up early that day?
