Hey everyone!
I'm heading to CP again for the first time in three years this weekend, and I'm looking for a bit of advice.
Now I know weekends are the worst times to come to the park, but working 65 hours a week and my schedule lines up with a couple friends' only once every blue moon... so it's now or never =)
In any case, we'll be starting out in Milwaukee this Saturday reallly early... to hopefully get there around open. My first question is this:
We're staying at the Breakers Express (first time at a CP hotel) for only one night, Saturday night. I read somewhere that we could pre-check-in after 8am. Does that mean we'd be eligible for ERT on that day? I'd love to get as much in as possible!
Also, what are the ticket discounts like at the hotels. We're going with a two day ride/slide ticket (even though we won't use Soak City tickets at all), and were wondering what would be the best. Also, I am aware Saturdays are the worst days to go.... do families and a lot of people leave in the afternoon? Are nights more busy? I'm sorry, I've been out of the loop of all amusement parks for nearly 2 years :(
Also, how are crowds on Sundays? Looking forward to the ERT there. I'm going with two first-timers and want to show them a good time. I was thinking to spend the ERT showing them a front seat ride on MF, then jumping in line for TTD, and hitting Maverick later in the day. Good strategy? I'm completely open to suggestions, I would just want to get them a front row ride on MF and have a great a time as we can.
Thanks a lot!
Kenny
If you get there early enough to pre-register on Saturday, you would be eligible for ERT on Sat and Sunday.
I'm not sure about the ticket discounts. Also, Breakers Express does not offer a shuttle, or parking reimbursement.
As far as your riding strategy, I would suggest parking in the Soak City lot, and entering the resort entrance near Magnum. Go to Maverick first, then head to Millennium Force. You should be able to make it to MF during ERT, and get your front seat ride. Then you could head to TTD, and you might as well wait for the front seat there too. :)
Saturday will probably be busy, but you'll be there two days, so you should still have time to enjoy all the rides.
Have fun and enjoy your trip!
Saturdays in July and August and very, very, very, very, very, very crowded. If you don't hit MF for ERT, you might have to wait up to 2 and a half to 3 hours. Maverick has a great capacity, and the line moves very fast. TTD I would probably try to ride it shortly before the park closes, and then get in line for Millennium Force just as the lines are closing.
REMEMBER: The lines close 8 minutes after the park does. And no matter how long the wait, you are guaranteed to ride. That's why I'm saying to get in line for Millennium right before the lines close, because that will probably have the longest line.
Have fun!!!
