First ride auction?

Will they be doing the usual first ride auction for charity like they do every year they get a new coaster?
For anyone in the know:

What has it taken historically as a winning bid for one of these first rides on the other coasters?

It's not just for Penn State fans anymore!
It cost me a donation of $85.00 to ride in the "first train" of the Mantis.

for those who have done this (Old Timer Tim and others) could you please tell me more about this auction andhow and when it happens..how do you get to go to it?? Is it for certain people like pass holders or what..Suprisingly I have neaver heard about this!! I would love to bid on a seat for MF..How does it work?? Are you bidding for certain seats or do you just bid and they let you in line then you can pick your seat basically meaning the earlier you bid the better seat you will get but early bid are more maybe?? I WANT INFO..lol

OK here is what happened with Mantis.
The seats in the first train were donated by CP to the American Cancer Society, Erie County Chapter. (I believe this is the right charity, it my have been the heart association). Anyhow, this is also the charity Mrs. Kinzel is very active in. The local radio station in Sandusky held an "auction" for the seats minimum bid was $75.00
The auction was held early May shortly before the park opened (may have been the Thursday before Opening Day). On the day, we had to be at the park by 8 a.m. we were led into the park to the Red Garter Saloon where we had a continental breakfast. We then were able to "choose" our seat in the train based on our bids, so the highest bid went first etc.
I remember the two highest bidders were a couple of college age girls who got one of the local car dealers to sponsor their bid in exchange for wearing the car dealers t-shirts on the ride. This was a great idea until the girls had to ride the first ride with no coats so the t-shirts could be seen. (you may remember from previous posts Opening Day 1996 was a little on the chilly side)
Thats the way it was.

Let's not beat this topic into the ground. I know there will be alot of interest in this event if it happens for MF. Let's WAIT until some type of annoucement is made and then we'll get the info out to everyone.
