First Cedar Point T.V. comercial

I have to admit that the palm trees were a nice touch... when did they plant those?!?!?

What's with the bitching about non-CP shots? I saw two rides not at CP, but both were from rides that, colors aside, might as well have been at CP (S&S tower and B&M inverter). Normal people can't tell the difference.

I'm sure there are plenty of reasons why its alright to use a few non CP rides but for the sake of conversation on a CP fan its definitely worth pointing out. Is that wooden coaster for sure Mean Streak?
Also since we are nit picking I like the little girl dropping the ice cream while standing in front of a green screen :P

Not bitching about it... just being a coaster nerd and noticing it.

I actually really like the commercial. I agree with Walt that it has the feel of some of the older CP commercials. One of my favorites is the end of the season one from many years ago that shows the park fading from fall into winter, and talks about how you don't have long left to enjoy the park (I know its on youtube, but I can't find the link).

And that one was from when the park closed on Labor Day. No Halloweekends, just one September weekend and that was it.

I too like the new one. Its got that softer almost "Relive the Nostalgia" feeling to it.

I also like it. I think it evokes the spirit of families having fun together at the escape from everyday life we call Cedar Point. I think this commercial and Planet Snoopy are attempts (not sure that latter was the best way to go) to get back to providing a balanced selection of rides and attractions that appeal to the family, not just the coaster enthusiast. I also like the theme of CP as a getaway. This beautiful peninsula has been luring visitors for ages with just that type of draw.

I personally find this commercial a lot "softer sounding" than past years.. it's a nice change. Seems like they are way more family oriented than they have been in prior years.

The Maverick one looked very cool. I saw the tail end of it. I really want to see it again.

4 summers of employment in ride operations does stuff to you.

That is a cool commercial. Kinda gets at the whole picture of what's available on that peninsula we've all come to know and love. :)

About an hour ago if that, ABC Family aired a commercial centered around Maverick, probably the one you're referring to.

I finally saw that one today, but what is interesting is that I saw it at my high school (Lake Orion High School) on a recorded school news program called channel one.

You know I remember Channel One we used to watch that, but now we watch some CNN school crap where the guy always thinks he has to crack a joke. I think the only reason we don't have Channel One anymore is, because our teachers didn't like the fact that it had commercials. By the was I go to Bath, Michigan

Edit: spelling

There's seriously a place called Bath in Michigan? :)

I find it funny that it is the same commercial ask the Kings Island one but with just Cedar Point rides in place of the KI ones

Mean Streak TL 2006
Magnum XL 200 TL 2005
Mean Streak TL, Snake River Falls ATL, Mean Streak 2004
Magnum 2003
Magnum / Camp Snoopy 2002

That not so interesting comercial played in Toledo, this morning. The song doesn't make the rides look exciting enough for me. Kind of dull.

But at least they are advertising in our area now.

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

But see, that's the point. In a society where everything is fast paced and crazy, you can come to a place like Cedar Point and let the rest of the world just stop.

The years of ads yelling at people were not sending the right message. Think about how your mothers would perceive the spot. That's what they were going for.

This is an excellent commercial, it gets the message across that CP is not just a collection of rides, but is a special place filled with all kinds of different things to have fun and create memories.

This is exactly the kind of message they should send. Thinking back to when I was a kid, all of my memories center around the park, not any ride in particular. The whole was bigger than the sum of it's parts so to speak.

I like the jingle also, sounds kind of nostalgic yet upbeat at the same time.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,

A lot of people actually call it the town with Welcome to Bath on both sides of the sign. By the way it is about 10 minutes north east of Lansing.
