FireWater

The brochure says the following about "Hot Summer Lights" aka the laser light show this year...

"...featuring Music, Sound, Lights, Video, Pyrotechnics and a new special effect, "FireWater". Cedar Point is the FIRST and ONLY amusement park to feature this new effect in a nightly show."

Anybody know what FireWater is? Sounds cool.

The show starts June 2 @ 10pm.

I think they shoot Boiling hot oil into the air and then set fire to it, generating flames up to 50ft high;)

From CPs Website:

The Firewater system features torch-like flames that can be choreographed to music and reach heights of 25 feet into the air.

Im not sure of this for sure, but this company claims to have an effect called firewater, which sounds similar to CP's description...

See near the bottom of the page for the video...

And, it says that one of the three states they are liscenced in is Ohio... hmmm....

Terrible website layout though...

The video looks cool, I think the Pistons use it at their games.

I was also a little confused as to what this effect entails, but I'm sure it will be spectacular once we actually see it...

Thrills Around the Corner!

This wouldn't happen to be something similar to the volcano outside of the Bellagio in Vegas, would it?

If I understand it correctly, they aerate the water with oxygen so it ignites. The "mist" or vapor portion of the water ignites, while the liquid portion remains in said state.

Is this what they plan on using, or am I out of line?

Heh, my bad. I've never been to Vegas, and I recalled the wrong hotel from what I've seen on TV.

Although technically the volcano is outside of the Bellagio too...just not in the immediate area. ;)

Haha... Everclear... Oh goodness....

Back on topic... I hope that this years "laser show" isnt just about the firewater... there is much that needs to be done to get it back on par...

But thats just my humble opinion...
