I would think that the rides 1430 pph is calculated on 1)three trains, 2)reclining on the lift, 3)competently trained and fully staffed using both sides of the station.

When you take it down to one train and reclining in the station i can't see why it was running 800 pph. One would think that KI should be able to get that number up.

Where has it been mentiond that the train will recline on the lift? I know that when x flight first open, it was supposed to have that feature but the idea was scrapped.

I am not sure if PKI is willing to spend the money to get this done. Again, I have not seen any proof that the train will recline on the lift yet.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Who said anything about it reclining on the lift hill?

gener said that the original number of people it "should" be able to put through in an hour would probably only happen if those things happen.

Ride on, MrScott!

OK so let's ut this down to size.

1. From what I've always heard, 1000 was full capicity for 2 trains 2 stations. The most I have EVER heard of actually being done at GL was 800 and it was hit a few times. With a 3rd train I believe an all-star crew could pull at most 1100. I have had crews that will fly but doue to recline in station, guest movement, and the enforcement of the loose article policy. I can't see it practically getting over 1000 even if the 3rd tain and reclining on the lift happened.

2. In order to recline of the lift the park would need to pretty much completely redesign the control system, power distribution, as well as the trains. For as much trouble as this is I don't see it happening. If any little glitch would happen, (i.e. rain, dirt, dust in power supply) the train would be stuck at the top of the lift. It is more trouble then it's worth

Well put rcpaul

I think the real question, rcpaul, is whether or not Vekoma has figured out why its product never worked properly? I can't imagine that KI would ever consider trying to figure that out, but if the manufacturer did then i could see them going for that.

Even with the third train i would think that 1000 is a lofty number. After all KI doesn't have the best reputation for throughput. imo Sure better than GLP, but certainly not lightning speed.

See, i don't think that's the question. Even assuming that Vekoma DID find a way to fix it to recline on the lift, like I said it would require the lift, trains, and power supply to be referbished/replaced. I don't see any park that would play the money to do something that will only take approx. 8 seconds off dispatch times. It's kinda like "if it ain't broke don't fix it" The ride runs (for the most part) fine. It is not nessisary that it reclines on the lift so why do it?

Also, even if the park had the money, who woould be crazy enough to try it? The ride itself was a mechanical nightmare and the thing that they "fixed" ended up being more reliable but much, much slower. Those of you who rode X-Flight during the end of last year saw a perfect example of this.

As far as my capacity estimates. I said max would be 1100, I would say that a park such as CP for instance, who runs 3 train consistantly, I would give an hourly average around 900-950. As I said, It would take an all-star crew to get it above 1000

I spent an absolutly wonderful day at Kings Island last Sunday. I'd have to say it's the best weather I've ever seen on any opening weekend I've ever been to at any park. Anyway, got a couple pics too.

Has anyone else seen the horrible paint job they gave to FH(XF)? I would guess they'll repaint it after 07, otherwise you would think they would've done a much better job. Not a bad color scheme though.

How can you say horrible paint job? I think it's much better looking than that hideous lime green. And it's getting fresh paint now, so why would they paint it again after the season is over?

And when did you see it last? In Jason's pics at the above link, the paint job wasn't complete. The new Red and Grey look nice!

I thought the same thing. The new colors look great. I was at the park Saturday and it clearly isn't finished yet. let them paint the whole thing before you call it horrible.

J. Trick also loves Delirium.

That logo looks like a poor attempt to match the "amazing" ::rollseyes:: designs of the SNES games ;)
